General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 75 mg nonoksinola-9.

Excipients: macrogoal 1500, macrogoal 1000, tartaric acid, Natrii hydrocarbonas, sodium lauryl sulfate.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Patenteks of the Oval of N which are a part of suppository ingredients after administration of drug in a vagina under the influence of body temperature within about 10 minutes evenly are distributed on walls of a vagina and the surface of a neck of uterus, and irrespective of quantity of a vulval secret form foam, being the stable barrier interfering penetration of spermatozoa into the cervical channel and a cavity of the uterus. Nonoksinol-9 reduces surface intention of a lipidic membrane of spermatozoa and it is irreversible will paralyze their ability to the movement. In vitro is proved bactericidal action concerning a number of the microorganisms relating to infections sexually transmitted.

Indications to use:

- local contraception for women of reproductive age { including in the presence of contraindications to use of hormonal or intrauterine contraception;

- irregular sexual contacts;

- use of the medicines reducing efficiency of hormonal contraception;

- the admission or delay in reception of constantly used oral contraceptives).

Route of administration and doses:

Before each sexual intercourse suppository is taken out from the blister in the marked place (fig. 1); it is entered deeply into a vagina (fig. 2); becomes active in 10 minutes from the moment of introduction (fig. 3) when active spermicidal agent is evenly distributed on a vagina, forming the stable barrier interfering advance of spermatozoa to the cervical canal and a cavity of the uterus (fig. 4).

If sexual intercourse is not finished within an hour, repeated administration of one more suppository is necessary in spite of the fact that duration of effect of drug makes 2 hours.

At repetition of sexual intercourses every time administration of new suppository is necessary, including in cases when the period between two sexual intercourses makes less than 1 hour.

Патентекс the Oval of N can be applied during a long span.

Features of use:

Does not make system impact. It can be applied together with condom. Increase in efficiency requires observance of a route of administration of drug.

Pregnancy and period of a lactation. Патентекс the Oval of N is a contraceptive and during pregnancy is not used. Drug should not be used during lochias.

The potential risk when using in the period of a lactation is not rather studied. To the feeding women it is appointed the doctor in case the advantage for mother exceeds risk for a fruit or the child.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, strengthening of allocations from a vagina, an itch and burning in a vagina and/or a penis of the partner, dryness of a vagina, an urodynia.

Interaction with other medicines:

Any medicine, and also the soap and solutions containing it, entered intravaginalno can reduce spermicidal effect of drug.

Contraindications:

• hypersensitivity to drug components;
• anomalies of development of generative organs;
• vaginitis, ulceration and irritation of a mucous membrane of a vagina;
• erosion of a neck of uterus, cervicitis;
• endometritis;
• vaginal bleeding.

Overdose:

It is not described.

Storage conditions:

At a temperature not above 25 °C, in the place, unavailable to children. Period of validity 2,5 years. Not to apply after a period of validity.
