General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 8 mg of Bromhexine of a hydrochloride, 10 mg of dextromethorphan of hydrobromide of monohydrate, 100 mg of ammonium of chloride.

Excipients: left menthol, sucrose, glucose (dextrose), the benzoic acid, Natrium benzoicum, sodium saccharinate, propylene glycol, vanillin, dye a sunset yellow, fragrance fruit, the water purified.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. The combined drug. Bromhexine renders mucolytic (sekretolitichesky), expectorant and weak antibechic action. The mucolytic effect is connected with a depolymerization and fluidifying of mucoprotein and mukopolisakharidny fibers.

Dextromethorphan raises a threshold of sensitivity of the tussive center of a myelencephalon, without leading at the same time to oppression of a respiratory center, possesses antibechic and sedative action, does not cause effect of accustoming to drug and does not possess the anesthetizing action. Ammonium chloride has expectorant properties.

Indications to use:

Drug is intended for relief of symptoms of "catarrhal diseases", flu, SARS which are followed by cough.

Route of administration and doses:

To adults and children 12 years are more senior: inside on 2 teaspoons 2–3 times a day.

Children are from 6 to 12 years old: inside on ½–1 to a teaspoon 3–4 times a day.

Features of use:

During treatment it is necessary to refrain from alcohol intake. Are careful during the performing of the work demanding concentration of attention, the increased speed of motor and mental reactions.

Side effects:

The Dispepsichesky phenomena, aggravation of a peptic ulcer, allergic reactions (skin rash, rhinitis, etc.), increase in level of transaminases in blood serum, drowsiness, a sleep disorder, a hyperexcitability (especially at children).

Interaction with other medicines:

Зедекс it is possible to appoint along with other drugs used at treatment of bronchopulmonary diseases.

Зедекс do not appoint along with antibechics (including containing codeine).

The Bromhexine which is Zedeks's part promotes penetration of antibiotics (erythromycin, cefalexin, Oxytetracyclinum, ampicillin, amoxicillin) into pulmonary fabric, but its combined use with salicylates, phenylbutazone and oksifenbutazony can cause strong irritation of a mucous membrane of a stomach.

The alcohol which is a part of syrup can change effect of other medicines.

Since dextromethorphan, contraindicated simultaneous use with MAO inhibitors (action on TsNS and the expressed respiratory depression is possible), Amiodaronum is a part of drug (can slow down metabolism of dextromethorphan in a liver and increase its toxicity), antidepressants - inhibitors of the return serotonin reuptake (fluoxetine, пароксетин).

Dextromethorphan can exponentiate analgeziruyushchy effect of opioids.

Contraindications:

Contraindications: hypersensitivity to drug components; pregnancy and period of a lactation; a peptic ulcer (in an aggravation stage); a concomitant use of other drugs containing the substances which are Zedeks's part; children's age up to 6 years.

With care. Liver and/or renal failure, bronchial asthma.

Overdose:

Life-threatening overdoses at use of Bromhexine for the person are unknown. The following symptoms are possible: nausea, vomiting and other gastrointestinal frustration. Dextromethorphan can cause excitement of the central nervous system.

Treatment: gastric lavage, reception of absorbent carbon, symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions:

To store in the dry place, in densely closed bottles at a temperature not above 30 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity - 3 years. Not to use on expiry date.
