Natrium thiosulfuricum

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 300 mg of Natrium thiosulfuricum of pentahydrate.

Excipients: Natrii hydrocarbonas, water for injections.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Has disintoxication effect. At poisoning with compounds of arsenic, mercury, lead forms nontoxic sulfites. At a hydrocyanism and its salts (cyanides) forms less toxic rhodanate compounds.

Indications to use:

Poisonings with compounds of arsenic, mercury, lead; cyanhydric acid and its salts; salts of iodine, bromine.

Route of administration and doses:

Intravenously slowly on 5-10 ml of solution of 300 mg/ml (depending on a look and weight of intoxication).

Features of use:

Natrium thiosulfuricum can be applied locally to treatment of patients with a mange.

At a poisoning with cyanides it is recommended to apply along with Natrium thiosulfuricum of sodium hyposulphite, sodium nitrite.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions.

Interaction with other medicines:

It is not described.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity, age up to 18 years (due to the lack of data), breastfeeding. During pregnancy it is applied only according to vital indications.

Overdose:

Cases of overdose are unknown.

Storage conditions:

To store in the place protected from light at a temperature from 2 to 30 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity - 5 years. Not to apply after the period of validity specified on packaging.

Packaging:

Solution for intravenous administration of 300 mg/ml on 5 ml or 10 ml in ampoules. 5 ampoules in a blister strip packaging from a film polyvinyl chloride. 1 or 2 blister strip packagings with ampoules with the scarificator ampoule ceramic or a knife for opening of ampoules and the application instruction in a pack from a cardboard. When using ampoules with a ring of a break or a point of a break the knife or the scarificator do not put.
