Baume-Bengue

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredients: 3,9 g of menthol, or 7,8 g of oil of a peppermint, 20,2 g of methyl salicylate.

Excipients: vaseline medical, paraffin oil firm.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Possesses anesthetics antiinflammatory action.

Indications to use:

Arthralgias, mialgiya, a pain syndrome at diseases about Coca of joint fabrics, a lumbar ishialgia, radiculitis

Route of administration and doses:

Outwardly. The necessary amount of ointment (2–4 g that corresponds to the volume of large cherry) is rubbed to painful sites of skin. If necessary the procedure is repeated in several hours (to 3 times a day). Course duration (without consultation of the doctor) — up to 10 days.

Features of use:

Only for external use. Not to apply with the warming compresses. At emergence of irritation of skin to stop use.

To avoid hit in eyes, on mucous membranes, sites of irritation of skin. Not to use drug more than 10 days without consultation of the doctor.

Side effects:

In rare instances hypersensitivity to drug, irritation in an injection site, skin allergic reactions, and also a Quincke's disease develops.

Interaction with other medicines:

Drug causes a dermahemia and reflex strengthens blood circulation in hypodermic fabric, thus, combined use with other drugs of local action can lead to strengthening of their absorption. Use of large numbers can increase toxicity of a methotrexate and reduce therapeutic effect of hypoglycemic means. Drug should not be used with peroral anticoagulants.

Contraindications:

- hypersensitivity to any component of drug;

- open wounds;

- irritation of skin;

- children's age up to 6 years.

With care: pregnancy, breastfeeding, aspirinovy bronchial asthma, children's age from 6 to 12 years.

Overdose:

The overdose of menthol and methyl salicylate was observed in some cases, mainly at children, at accidental intake of the drugs containing these substances.

Symptoms: excitement, increase in depth of breath, a hyper pyrexia, nausea, an abdominal pain, vomiting and symptoms of oppression of TsNS such as dizziness, unstable gait, inflows to the person, drowsiness, respiratory depression and a coma.

Treatment: symptomatic and supporting; correction of an electrolytic and water balance, purpose of the adsorbing means and salt laxatives, an artificial diuresis, outside cooling of a body; in hard cases — hemotransfusion, a hemodialysis.

The overdose of ointment of Baume-Bengue at topical administration happens seldom and only at drug misuse (drawing on mucous membranes, extensive areas of the injured or infected skin).

Storage conditions:

In dry, protected from light and the place, unavailable to children. Period of validity 3 years. Not to use after the term specified on packaging.

Ointment for external use. On 25 g in banks from glass melt of orange glass. Each can is placed in a pack. On 20 cans place in boxes from a cardboard.
