General characteristics. Structure:
Active ingredients: 20,2 g of methyl salicylate, 3,9 g of menthol racemic.
Excipients: vaseline medical, paraffin oil, or peppermint oil, vaseline medical, paraffin oil.
Pharmacological properties:
Pharmacodynamics. At rubbing in in skin biologically active agents which are contained in Baume-Bengue's ointment cause irritation of the nerve terminations which are followed by a cryesthesia of easy burning and a pricking as a result of which have the light local anesthetic distracting effect (menthol, peppermint oil) and also render antiinflammatory effect (methyl salicylate).
Indications to use:
Baume-Bengue is applied outwardly to grindings as distracting and anesthetic at neuralgia, mialgiya, arthralgias, etc.
Route of administration and doses:
To apply Baume-Bengue's ointment on painful body parts a layer approximately in 1 mm, then to rub in skin. Depending on intensity of pain to repeat the procedure 2-3 times a day.
Side effects:
Allergic reactions to Baume-Bengue's components are possible.
Contraindications:
The increased individual sensitivity to components of drug of Baume-Bengue. Dermatological diseases.
Storage conditions:
To store in the place protected from light, at a temperature not above 2-10 °C. A period of validity - 2 years.
