Unguentum Ichthyoli

General characteristics. Structure:

In 100 g of ointment with concentration of active ingredient of 10% Active agent contains: Ichthyolum (ихтаммол) 10,0 g.

Excipients: vaseline - 90,0 g.

In 100 g of ointment with concentration of active ingredient of 20% active agent contains: Ichthyolum (ихтаммол) 20,0 g.

Excipients: vaseline - 80,0 g.

Pharmacological properties:

Anti-inflammatory      drug, renders antimicrobic (bactericidal concerning Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes), keratoplastichesky action. Maturing of furuncles accelerates. At direct action on skin causes the weak irritation of sensitive nerve terminations which is replaced by decrease in their sensitivity that leads to emergence of the reflexes changing a trophicity of fabrics. Causes a denaturation of proteinaceous molecules.

Pharmacokinetics. Absorption is low.

Indications to use:

Ugly face, eczema, pyoderma (including a furunculosis), the stationary and regressing psoriasis stages.

Route of administration and doses:

Outwardly. Apply to adults and children from 12 years with a thin layer on affected areas of skin 1-2 times a day. If necessary use a bandage.
Duration of a course and feature of the scheme of treatment (both at children, and at adults) needs to be coordinated with the doctor.

Features of use:

Not to allow hit of ointment on mucous membranes and in eyes. After putting ointment carefully to wash up hands for prevention of hit of ointment in eyes, a nose, a mouth.

INFLUENCE ON ABILITY TO DRIVING OF MOTOR TRANSPORT AND TO CONTROL OF MECHANISMS
Unguentum Ichthyoli does not influence ability to driving of motor transport and performance of work, demanding the increased speed of psychomotor reactions.

Side effects:

Local allergic reactions are possible.
If any of the side effects specified in the instruction are aggravated, or you noticed any other side effects which are not specified in the instruction, report about it to the doctor.

Interaction with other medicines:

When using Unguentum Ichthyoli it is necessary to consider that in solutions alkaloids, salts of heavy metals and iodide salts are incompatible with it.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug. Children's age up to 12 years.

USE AT PREGNANCY AND IN THE PERIOD OF THE LACTATION
During pregnancy and a lactation use of drug is possible if the potential advantage for mother  surpasses possible risk for a fruit or the child.

Overdose:

Cases of overdose are not known.

Storage conditions:

In the dry, protected from light place at a temperature not above 20 °C.
To store in the place, unavailable to children.

Packaging:

Ointment for external use of 10%, 20%.
On 25 g in tubas aluminum. On 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 g in glass jars of the BTS type with the tense covers.
Each tuba or to bank together with the application instruction is placed in a pack from a cardboard.
