Acetylsalicylic acid

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 25 mg or 50 mg of the lyophilized powder of acetylsalicylic acid.

The non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug possessing febrifugal, analgeziruyushchy, antiinflammatory, anti-aggregation action.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Acetylsalicylic acid inhibits cyclooxygenase and is irreversible brakes a cyclooxygenase way of metabolism of arachidonic acid. Influences the subcrustal centers of thermal control and painful sensitivity. Reduces a hyperemia, exudation, permeability of capillaries, activity of hyaluronidase, limits power ensuring inflammatory process by oppression of products of ATP.

Reduction of contents Tkhv2 in thrombocytes leads to irreversible suppression of aggregation. Expands vessels a little. The essential inhibition of a skleivayemost of platelets is reached at doses to 30 mg.

Pharmacokinetics. After parenteral administration acetylsalicylic acid is very quickly hydrolyzed by esterases (T1/2 makes no more than 15 — 20 min.). Indications to use:

Inflammatory processes in an eye of various origin and localization: endogenous and exogenous uveites, including traumatic, postoperative, contusional, burn; keratitis, sclerites, keratouveita, conjunctivitis. The antiinflammatory effect is most expressed when using drug in the acute period of inflammatory process in an eye at the perforated and combined injuries of an organ of sight. Drug stops consensual irritation of a pair unimpaired eye.

Route of administration and doses:

From 0,025 g or 0,05 g of drug add respectively 2,5 ml or 5 ml of water for injections to contents of an ampoule (bottle) and stir up before full dissolution. The acid solution of acetilsalicylic received by 1% is used within a day. Solution is entered under a conjunctiva or parabulbarno in a dose no more than 0,5 ml, daily or every other day. On a course of treatment from 5 to 10 injections are necessary. For reduction of morbidity of injections add 0,2 — 0,3 ml of 1% or 2% of solution of novocaine to the syringe.

Solution can be used in the form of instillations on 1 — 2 drops to 3 — 4 times a day.

Side effects:

Interaction with other medicines:

Acetylsalicylic acid strengthens effect of heparin. It is not necessary to appoint with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is not necessary to mix injection solution of drug with solutions of other medicines. Let's combine with novocaine.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid.

Overdose:

The overdose is possible at one-time introduction of excessively high doses of drug or at prolonged use.

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, sonitus, febricula, fever.

Treatment: symptomatic, urine alkalization, induction of a diuresis.
