Motherwort tincture

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: spirit extraction from a grass of a motherwort 1:5.

Excipients: ethanol.

Herbal remedy with preferential sedative and somnolent action.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Means of a plant origin. Renders sedative, hypotensive, cardiotonic and negative chronotropic effect. On the nature of action tincture of a motherwort is close to valerian drugs. The calming effect occurs due to strengthening of process of braking or decrease in process of excitement in the central nervous system. Does not exert somnolent impact, but facilitates approach of a physiological dream and deepens it. Does not cause the phenomena of accustoming, mental dependence.

Pharmacokinetics. It is not defined.

Indications to use:

The increased nervous irritability, sleep disorder, neurasthenia, neurocirculatory dystonia.

Route of administration and doses:

The adult on 30 – 50 drops in 3-4 times a day; to children 12 years so many drops on reception how many years to the child are more senior.

Duration of a course of treatment is individual for each patient taking into account a disease, portability of medicine and the reached medical effect. It is not recommended to apply medicine because of the ethanol content for a long time. Children have to have minimum reception duration.

Features of use:

During treatment it is necessary to be careful when driving motor transport and to the persons who are engaged in other potentially dangerous types of activity demanding the increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, dyspepsia are in some cases possible. At emergence of the specified symptoms reception of medicine needs to be cancelled.

Interaction with other medicines:

Strengthens effect of somnolent and analgetic medicines.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to medicine components, pregnancy, the lactation period, children's age up to 12 years, a peptic ulcer of a stomach and a 12-perstny gut, erosive gastritis (an aggravation phase), arterial hypotension, bradycardia.

With care. Liver diseases, alcoholism, craniocereberal injury, brain diseases.

Overdose:

Symptoms: at use in high doses slackness, depression, weakness, decrease in working capacity are possible.

Treatment: At chronic overdose no additional actions are required, except a dose decline or the temporary termination of reception of medicine. At acute overdose it is necessary to carry out induction of vomiting, a gastric lavage. Symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions:

To store in the place protected from light at a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity – 4 years. Not to use after the period of validity specified on packaging.
