Gamastat

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredients: 1000 mg of aluminum of chloride of 6-water, 500 mg of iron (III) of chloride 6-water.

Excipients: polyvinyl alcohol, the water purified.

The main target destination of medicine - rendering bystry haemo static effect at operative measures on parenchymatous bodies.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Active components of medicine Gamastat are gland (Sh) chloride 6-water and aluminum chloride 6-water, possessing the knitting action, forming albuminates with proteins of fabrics.

Gamastat has the haemo static effect stepping directly after its drawing on a wound surface during 15-60 with (primary hemostasis), in case of repeated bleeding the hemostasis has to come no more than in 15 min. after repeated putting medicine. Gamastat promotes formation and the organization of the blood clot which is densely fixed on a wound surface, interferes with secondary infection of a wound.

Gamastat has the expressed antimicrobic effect in relation to bacteria and mushrooms: S.aureus, P.aeruginosa, C.albicans, Asp.niger.

Pharmacokinetics. Data on pharmacokinetics are not submitted. At topical short-term administration of medicine active agents do not come to a system blood stream.

Indications to use:

Gamastat apply as a hemostatic at surgical interventions in the conditions of a hospital:

-    for a stop of capillary and parenchymatous bleedings from a liver, kidneys, etc. parenchymatous bodies at surgical interventions;

-    in endoscopy - for achievement of a resistant hemostasis and the prevention of a recurrence of gastroduodenal bleedings.

Route of administration and doses:

Gamastat apply on the bleeding place in the quantity sufficient for formation of a haemo static film, skintight to the bleeding wound. The moment of approach of a hemostasis comes at formation of a clot of dark brown color which is densely fixed to the damaged fabric of body.

If bleeding does not stop, building of a blood clot is necessary. The second layer of medicine which at the same time originally formed a clot is for this purpose put is not removed. In case of excess drawing Gamastat excesses are removed washing by solution of sodium of chloride of isotonic 0,9% for infusions from the syringe.

Not to reuse contents of a bottle.

Features of use:

No special events, except for usual medical observation, are required.

Side effects:

The increased individual sensitivity to Gamastat's components is possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Clinically significant interaction of Gamastat with other medicines is not established.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Gamastat's components. It is contraindicated at arterial bleeding.

Overdose:

Overdose cases were not registered so far.

Storage conditions:

In the place protected from light at a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. Period of validity 2 years. Not to use after a period of validity.
