Traits of character of the person

Как формируются черты характера человекаCharacter is such lines of the personality which are inherent in the specific person and show his attitude to surrounding and own duties. Personal qualities of people are shown literally in all actions which they make. Whether it be work or rest, everyone works and relaxes in own way. Some look for tasks more difficultly and derive pleasure from their decision, others look for easy ways. Results of work are indifferent for these people. Action is complete, work is finished.

In the same way character of the person at communication is shown. So, reaction of one people to notes rough, others – sluggish or is practically absent. Quality of reaction depends on temperament, but is not defined by it.

From the point of view of society, traits of character of the person strong define his behavior. This is the man of his word and affairs. The spineless personality suffers from a non-obligation, does not keep promises, completely depends on circumstances, in a word, goes down stream.

Traits of character of the person are divided into the following categories:

  • Motivational – define the purpose, direct and support a certain activity;
  • Tool – demonstrate to manner of performance.

When the task is set, tool traits of character of the person which show how operation is performed are shown: "having rolled up or carelessly". At the same time the policy of motivation is important: positive or negative. So, the person with "strong character" does not wish to execute work, unpleasant for it, and flabby with pleasure does what considers it necessary also necessary. As the important tool in manifestation of character of the person serves will power – conscious need. Definition of the weak-willed personality not always testifies to muscular weakness. More often, on the contrary, people of a weak will are ready to submit to "leader", performing the tasks interfaced to application of physical force.

Main traits of character of the person

In spite of the fact that each personality is considered unique, nevertheless, people have many similar qualities and many groups belong to a certain psychological type. Attempts of qualification which cornerstone the main traits of character of the person are were undertaken by psychiatrists since the last century. The first the German specialist Kremer paid attention to communication of incidence with a constitution. Then its doctrine was developed by the American psychiatrist Sheddon. At the end of the last century of typology of characters the following scientists developed: Fromm, Leongard, Lichko.

Scientists proceeded from general provisions which essence is formulated in the following:

  • The main traits of character of the person are put till the birth – in the next years they are shown in a varying degree;
  • All traits of character of the person do not represent a set of accidents, but submit to strict pattern;
  • On characters people are subdivided into the groups having similarity of mental reactions to the same irritants.

Depending on what traits of character of the person prevail, psychiatrists divided all persons into four types:

  • Introverts – are closed to communication, are serious, sluggish
  • Extroverts – are relaxed, quick-tempered, cheerful;
  • Emotionally stable – are counterbalanced, almost indifferent to failures, both to strangers, and to own. Equally have both positive, and negative traits of character of the person therefore differ in stability and coolness;
  • Emotionally unstable – are in constant tension, are disturbing, sensitive to any troubles, as in the personal plan, and on a global scale.

The German psychiatrist Karl Leongard was not content with these types and developed other qualification which formed the psychopathology basis. The psychopathy, from the point of view of scientific understanding, is not a mental disease, but represents the patient who has negative traits of character of the person representing pathological deviations of the personality. Investigating people of different professions, Karl Leongard came to a conclusion that qualification of personal signs is not enough, it is important to define aktsentuirovanny traits of character of the person which have personal manifestation.

Types of accentuation of the personality on Leongarda:

  • Gipertimny is the unrecoverable optimist "believing in himself", despite any failures;
  • Affective and labile – having both negative, and positive traits of character of the person which compensate each other;
  • Dysthymic – the pessimist expecting failure failures in any affairs;
  • Alarming – timid, shy, obedient to "strokes of bad luck";
  • Emotivny who - is feeling pity kind. Has positive traits of character of the person which use people around in the mercenary purposes;
  • Affective and excited – is raised emotional, both in positive, and in the negative relation.

The listed types of persons on Leongarda have exclusively inborn traits of character of the person whereas exist and socially caused accentuation:

  • Ведущие черты характера человекаDemonstrative – boasting, deception, vanity. At exceeding of an excitation threshold at demonstrative persons hysteria develops;
  • Getting stuck – is suspicious, sensitive, vain, has tendency to paranoia;
  • Pedantic – conscientious, scrupulous, ipokhodrichny;
  • Excitable – heavyweight, quick-tempered, pedantic, is dangerous in critical situations.

The domestic psychiatrist Lichko expanded Leongard's classification, in relation to teenage age, having added to ten psychological types one more – conformal, with the raised "gregarious reflex". Such teenager wishes "to be as all" the best, in his opinion.

Psychiatric classifications cover all traits of character of the person therefore are successfully used in psychology and pedagogics. The tutor has to predict emotional reactions of pupils.
