Antistrumin-Darnitsa

Antistrumin-Darnitsa – the drug used for treatment and prevention of iodine deficiency states and diseases of a thyroid gland.

Form of release and structure

Dosage form of release of Antistrumin-Darnits – a tablet: ploskotsilindrichesky, almost white or white with a yellowish shade, with a facet (on 10 pieces in blister strip packagings, on 5 or 10 packagings in a cardboard pack).

Structure of 1 tablet:

• active ingredient: potassium iodide – 1 mg;
• auxiliary components: crystal sugar, calcium stearate.

Indications to use

• iodine deficiency (development prevention);
• diffusion euthyroid craw (treatment);
• iodscarce (local) craw after surgical removal, and also after completion of complex therapy by drugs of hormones of a thyroid gland (prevention of a recurrence).

Contraindications

• hemorrhagic diathesis;
• pulmonary tuberculosis;
• manifest hyperthyroidism;
• use of potassium iodide in a daily dose is higher than 0,3-1 mg of iodine at autonomous adenoma, the focal and diffusion autonomous centers of a thyroid gland, except carrying out a preoperative yodoterapiya for blockade of a thyroid gland according to Plummer;
• use of potassium iodide in a daily dose is higher than 0,15 mg of iodine at a latent hyperthyroidism;
• herpetiform dermatitis of Dyuringa (Dyuringa-Brock's syndrome);
• age up to 12 years;
• pregnancy and period of a lactation;
• hypersensitivity to drug components.

Route of administration and dosage

Antistrumin-Darnitsa accept inside. For the purpose of the prevention of irritation of a mucous membrane of a digestive tract it is recommended to wash down drug with milk, sweet tea or kissel.

The scheme of use of Antistrumin-Darnits is defined by the doctor individually.

For prevention drug is appointed on 1 tablet of 1 times in 7 days. The tablet needs to be washed down with a large amount of liquid. Carrying out a long course is possible (up to several years).

Daily dose at treatment of diffusion forms of a craw – 1 tablet, frequency rate of reception – 2-3 times in 7 days. The average duration of a course – 6-12 months and more.

Side effects

• cardiovascular system: tachycardia;
• endocrine system: at reception of high doses of drug – the craw, a hypothyroidism at therapy of a craw at adults (in a daily dose of 0,3-1 mg of iodine), in some cases can arise the hyperthyroidism caused by iodine. Most often diffusion or limited sites of autonomy of a thyroid gland are the reason of this disturbance. The patients of advanced age having a craw throughout long time are most of all subject to risk;
• nervous system and mentality: irritability, tremor, sleep disorders;
• immune system, skin and hypodermic cellulose: hypersensitivity reactions, including the rhinitis caused by iodine, a tuberous/violent yododerma, a Quincke's disease, exfoliative dermatitis, a swelling of sialadens, fever, an acne, the increased sweating;
• alimentary system: unpleasant feelings in epigastriums, diarrhea;
• blood and lymphatic system: eosinophilia;
• others: manifestations of an iodism (in the form of "iodic" fever, a small tortoiseshell, a rhinedema, "iodic" eels, skin rash, a Quincke's edema, an itch, an acute anaphylaxis).

As a rule, at Antistrumin-Darnits's use with the preventive purpose for patients of all age and the therapeutic purpose at children development of side reactions is not observed. However completely it is impossible to exclude emergence of the expressed hyperthyroidism in the presence of the large centers of autonomy of a thyroid gland at reception of iodine in daily doses it is higher than 0,15 mg.

Special instructions

At Antistrumin-Darnits's appointment medical control of their state is necessary for children.

At a renal failure development of a hyperpotassemia is possible.

Sick diabetes mellitus it is necessary to consider that as an additional component crystal sugar is a part of drug.

It is recommended to avoid use of drug at treatment by a radioiodine, at suspicion/existence of cancer of thyroid gland.

Antistrumin-Darnitsa it is not necessary to apply at a hypothyroidism, except cases when the hypothyroidism is connected with an iodine deficiency.

Medicinal interaction

Antistrumin-Darnitsa interferes with penetration of unstable isotopes of iodine into tissues of a thyroid gland.

The iodine deficiency increases, and surplus – lowers reaction to use of thyreostatic means at treatment of a hyperthyroidism therefore before/during therapy of a hyperthyroidism it is whenever possible necessary to avoid any use of iodine.

In return, thyreostatic means promote braking of transition of iodine to organic compounds in a thyroid gland, causing, thus, formation of a craw.

At the combined use of Antistrumin-Darnits with some medicinal means / substances development of the following effects is possible:

• substances which penetration into a thyroid gland happens on the same mechanism of capture as iodine (for example, perchlorate), and also substances which are not transported (for example, thiocyanate): competitive suppression of absorption of iodine thyroid gland;
• lithium salts (with the highest doses of Antistrumin-Darnits): development of a craw and hypothyroidism;
• quinidine: strengthening of action on heart (because of increase in plasma potassium concentration);
• vegetable alkaloids and salts of heavy metals: formation of an insoluble deposit and complication of absorption of iodine;
• kaliysberegayushchy diuretics (with the highest doses of Antistrumin-Darnits): development of a hyperpotassemia.

To store in original packaging, in the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature up to 25 °C.

Period of validity – 4 years.
