Крем Аргосульфан Argosulfan – antibacterial agent for external use.

Form of release and structure

Drug produce 2% in the form of external use cream: soft homogeneous mass white or white with a shade from light gray till pink color (on 15 or 40 g in aluminum tubas, in a cardboard pack 1 tuba).

Active ingredient – silver sulphathiazole, its contents in 1 g of cream makes 20 mg.

Excipients: vaseline white, cetostearyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, methylhydroxybenzoate, глицерол, potassium dihydrophosphate, sodium lauryl sulfate, пропилгидроксибензоат, sodium hydrophosphate, water for injections.

Indications to use

Purulent wounds;
Burns of any etiology (all severity): solar, thermal, chemical, beam, electric current;
Streptostafilodermiya, microbic eczema, impetigo, the simple contact and infected dermatitis;
Freezing injuries;
Trophic ulcers of a shin of various genesis, including at diabetic angiopatiya, chronic venous insufficiency, an ugly face, an obliterating endarteritis;
Decubituses;
Cuts, grazes and other small home accidents.

Contraindications

Prematurity, children's age up to 2 months (in connection with high risk of development of "nuclear" jaundice);
Inborn insufficiency glyukozo-6-fosfatdegidrogenazy;
Hypersensitivity to streptocides (including to sulphathiazole).

With care appoint cream Argosulfan to patients: at extensive burns, being in a depressed case, because of impossibility to collect the full allergological anamnesis; at abnormal liver functions and/or kidneys.

Route of administration and dosage

Cream is applied outwardly, treatment is appointed an open method or with use of occlusive bandages.

Cream is applied on an affected area and distributed a uniform layer in 2-3 mm. Manipulations carry out in sterile conditions 2-3 times a day to a full wound repair or transplantation of skin. During therapy cream has to cover completely all sites of defeat if a part of a wound opens, the coat layer should be recovered.

If in the course of therapy of contaminated wounds by Argosulfan exudate is formed, before repeated putting cream the wound needs to be cleared of it and to process antiseptic solution (aqueous solution of a hlorgeksidin of 0,1%).

The most admissible daily dose of cream – 25 g. The maximum duration of treatment is no more than two months.

Side effects

Use of drug can cause burning sensation, an itch and irritation in a site of application, development of allergic reactions.

At long use of cream deskvamatozny dermatitis, a leukopenia can become side effects.

Special instructions

Argosulfan's use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is allowed if the affected area covers less than 20% of a body surface and the estimated advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit and the child.

At treatment of patients with a renal and/or liver failure it is recommended to control the content of sulphathiazole in blood serum.

Drug does not exert impact on ability to control of difficult mechanisms and to driving of motor transport.
