Tseforal

Tseforal Solyutab – an antibiotic (generation cephalosporin III) which is applied to treatment of LOR-diseases, diseases of respiratory tracts and uncomplicated infections of urinary tract at men and women.

Pharmacological action

Being a semi-synthetic antibiotic (group of cephalosporins III of generation), Tseforal apply as a peroral medicine with the wide range of bactericidal action showing activity to the infections caused:

• Moraxella catarrhalis;
• Streptococcus pneumoniae;
• Haemophilus influenza;
• Streptococcus pyogenes;
• Proteus mirabilis;
• Escherichia coli;
• Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

Tseforal is not effective concerning Enterococcus spp., Pseudomonas spp., Listeria monocytogenes and majority of strains of Staphylococcus spp., Enterobacter spp., Clostridium spp., Bacteroides fragilis.

Release form

Tseforal produce in the form of the pale orange dispersed tablets containing active component (a tsefiksim trihydrate) in number of 400 mg, in blisters on 1, 5 and 7 pieces.

Indications to Tseforal's use

According to the instruction, Tseforal appoint at treatment of various infectious and inflammatory diseases which cause the microorganisms showing sensitivity to a medicine. So, medicine is shown at therapy:

• Sinusitov;
• Streptococcal tonsillitis and pharyngitis;
• Acute average otitis;
• Acute bronchitis and exacerbations of chronic bronchitis;
• Uncomplicated gonorrhea;
• Uncomplicated infections of urinary tract;
• Shigellosis.

Tseforal's contraindications

Contraindication to Tseforal's use, according to the instruction, is hypersensitivity to cephalosporins, a tsefiksim and penicillin.

To children the medicine is not appointed against the background of a chronic renal failure.

Extra care is demanded by Tseforal's use:

• At pregnancy;
• At colitis (in the anamnesis);
• To elderly people.

For the period of Tseforal's reception breastfeeding should be interrupted.

Tseforal route of administration

Efficiency of use of Tseforal does not depend on meal. Tablets can be swallowed entirely or to part in water before receiving suspension.

Daily dosage for adults and children weighing from 50 kg – one tablet which can be accepted in one or two receptions. For children of 25-50 kg usually appoint a half of an adult dosage.

Duration of therapy by Tseforal, according to the instruction, depends on a type of an infection and the nature of a disease:

• At treatment of a tonzillofaringit who causes Streptococcus pyogenes – of 10 days;
• At treatment of infections of ENT organs and respiratory tracts – 1-2 weeks;
• At treatment of uncomplicated infections of urinary tract (upper and lower parts) men – 7-14 days, at women have 3-14 days.

The overdose by Tseforal strengthens the frequency of manifestations of dozozavisimy side effects.

Medicinal interaction

The risk of emergence of symptoms of overdose increases at combined use of Tseforal with blockers of canalicular secretion, including пробенецид.

Also during the therapy which is carried out by Tseforal it is necessary to consider that medicine can strengthen effect of indirect anticoagulants.

Side effects

Most often at Tseforal's use, according to reviews, there are frustration of the alimentary system in the form of abdominal pains, nausea, disturbances of digestion, vomiting and diarrhea.

Long reception of Tseforal can lead to disturbance of normal intestinal microflora. As a rule, at manifestation the antibiotic - the associated diarrhea benign for its stopping is enough to stop reception of a medicine. It is not necessary to apply antidiarrheal drugs against the background of development of pseudomembranous colitis at the carried-out treatment.

• Headaches, dysphoria and dizziness (central nervous system);

• Hemolitic anemia and intersticial nephrite.
