Tsikloferon – immunomodulatory and antiviral medicine. Interferon synthesis inductor.

Structure and form of release of Tsikloferon

Drug is produced in two dosage forms:

• The biconvex tablets covered with a yellow kishechnorastvorimy cover, containing Megluminum акридонацетат 150 mg everyone. Additional substances: calcium stearate, polysorbate 80, povidone, propylene glycol, copolymer of methacrylic acid, povidone. In blister strip packagings on 10 tablets.
• Transparent yellow solution for intramuscular or intravenous administration. Contains in 1 ml of solution Megluminum акридонацетат 125 mg. Auxiliary components: water for injections. In ampoules on 2 ml. On 5 ampoules in packaging.

Tsikloferon's analogs are the following medicines: Amiksin, Anaferon children's, Galavit, Imunin, Inflamafertin, Maksimun, Otsilokotsinum, Protfenolozid, Timogen.

Pharmacological action

According to the instruction Tsikloferon is an immunomodulator. Active agent of drug is the low-molecular inductor of interferon, than its broad spectrum of activity is caused. Tsikloferon's use has immunomodulatory, antiviral, antiinflammatory effect.

According to Tsikloferon at oral administration keeps interferonogenny activity for three days.

Drug and Tsikloferon's analogs are effective concerning flu, viruses of a tick-borne encephalitis, herpes, hepatitis, a virus of an immunodeficiency, papilloma, a cytomegalovirus and others. At acute viruses of hepatitis use of drug interferes with its transition to a chronic form. At primary stages of HIV infections Tsikloferon stabilizes immunity indicators.

Also drug is highly effective as a part of a combination therapy at persistent and acute bacterial infections (clamidioses, neuroinfections, pneumonia, bronchitis, urogenital infections, ulcers, postoperative complications). Active agent of drug shows positive action at general and rheumatic diseases of connecting fabric, having anesthetic, antiinflammatory and autoimmune effect.

Indications to use

According to the instruction Tsikloferon in the tableted form is shown to children is more senior than four years and the adult as a part of complex therapy in the following cases:

• acute respiratory diseases, flu;
• chronic viral hepatitis With and In;
• herpes infection;
• HIV infection (stages 2A-2B);
• neuroinfections;
• acute intestinal infections;
• the secondary immunodeficiences caused by persistent fungal and bacterial infections.

Tsikloferon's use of solution, in addition to above-mentioned diseases, is shown also for treatment:

• chlamydial infections;
• Cytomegaloviral infection, viral hepatitis of A, B, C, D;
• degenerative and dystrophic diseases of joints;
• general and rheumatic diseases of connecting fabric.

Contraindications

According to the instruction Tsikloferon is contraindicated:

• at pregnancy and breastfeeding;
• aged up to four years;
• at hypersensitivity;
• at cirrhosis in a decompensation stage.

Route of administration of Tsikloferon and mode of dosing

According to the instruction Tsikloferon in the tableted form take inside for half an hour before meal once a day. The dosage depends on indications to Tsikloferon.

At a herpes infection the adult Tsikloferon appoint on four tablets to one reception. The course of treatment makes 40 tablets. Therapy at an initial stage of a disease is most effective.

At treatment of flu, intestinal infections the course makes 20 tablets (on four tablets on reception).

At treatment of neuroinfections, HIV the course makes 140 tablets (on four tablets on reception).

To children Tsikloferon according to indications appoint according to such scheme:

• From four to six years – 1 tablet a day;
• From seven to eleven years – 2 tablets a day;
• Of twelve one or three years of a tablet on reception once a day.

A repeated course of Tsikloferon should be conducted after a three-week break.

Intramuscular and intravenous administration of drug is carried out every other day according to the basic scheme. Duration of therapy depends on indications to Tsikloferon.

At Cytomegaloviral, herpetic, Chlamidia infections give 10 injections on 250 mg.

At neuroinfections appoint 12 pricks on 250-500 mg as a part of a combination therapy.

At an acute and chronic viral hepatitis, do to HIV infection 10 injections on 500 mg.

At rheumatic and general diseases of connecting fabric Tsikloferon is according to reviews effective in a dosage of 250 mg on 5 pricks. It is necessary to conduct four similar courses of treatment with a break in two weeks between courses.

At degenerative and dystrophic diseases it is necessary to conduct two courses (5 pricks on 250 mg).

The children's dosage of solution of Tsikloferon makes 6-10 mg on weight kg.

Side effects of Tsikloferon

According to Tsikloferon it is well transferred by patients. Undesirable effects in the form of allergic reactions are sometimes possible.

Medicinal interaction

Drug and Tsikloferon's analogs are compatible to all medicines applied to treatment of above-mentioned diseases including to chemotherapeutic drugs and interferona.

Tsikloferon storage conditions

Tsikloferon in the tableted form store in the dry, dark place at the room temperature not longer than 24 months.

Solution for injections is stored at the room temperature not longer than three years. Drug freezing is allowed. At formation of a deposit or discoloration drug is not good for use.
