Description:
Spherophakia - the heredo-familial anomaly of development representing formation of spherical shape of a crystalline lens.
Spherophakia symptoms:
The crystalline lens at the same time is sharply reduced, has spherical shape. At central position the spherical crystalline lens can be restrained in a pupil, causing secondary glaucoma.
At inborn defects of a choroid and iris the lens coloboma can develop. As a rule, it is located in the lower segment of a crystalline lens.
Spherophakia reasons:
The syndrome has a hereditary etiology.
Treatment of the Spherophakia:
Pathogenetic treatment does not exist, carry out a symptomatic treatment.
