Linimentum balsam (according to Vishnevsky)

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agents: tar of birch 0,9 g, xeroform of 0,9 g.

Excipients: silicon dioxide colloid (aerosil), macrogoal (poly(ethylene oxide) 1500), castor oil.

Pharmacological properties:

The combined drug for external use. Renders the antimicrobic, antiinflammatory and improving an angenesis action.

Indications to use:

- skin abscess

- furuncle

- lymphadenitis, limfangiit

- burns

- frostbite

- wounds, ulcers

- decubituses

Route of administration and doses:

Drug is used outwardly. Ointment is applied by 2-3 times a day a thin layer on affected areas or apply a bandage in 5-6 layers of a gauze with linimentum. The bandage is changed by 1-2 times a day. Duration of treatment depends on character and the course of a disease, is defined by the attending physician.

Features of use:

At emergence of allergic reactions use of drug is stopped and carry out the desensibilizing therapy.

Children. Use is possible on doctor's orders.

Pregnancy and period of a lactation. If necessary drug use on doctor's orders is possible.

Does not influence ability to manage the vehicle or potentially dangerous mechanisms.
