Lidocaine

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 20 mg of lidocaine (in the form of a hydrochloride) in 1 ml of solution.

Excipients: sodium chloride, a benzetoniya chloride, water for injections.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Lidocaine on chemical structure belongs to derivatives of acetanilide and has the expressed mestnoanesteziruyushchy property. Mestnoanesteziruyushchy action is caused by oppression of nerve conduction due to blockade of natrium channels in nerve terminations and nerve fibrils.

The anesthetizing effect of lidocaine develops in 5-10 minutes after installation in a conjunctival sac, duration of action of 60 - 120 minutes.

Pharmacokinetics. The size of the maximum concentration (Cmax) of lidocaine in a blood plasma - 1,5-5 mkg/ml; an elimination half-life (T1/2) - 1,6 h. It is metabolized in a liver by a microsomal oxidase by dealkylation in monoethylglycine and a xylead. The last has anestetichesky and toxic properties.

Priblizitelyyono of 75% of a xylead is brought with urine. At metabolism of lidocaine paraaminobenzoic acid is not formed thanks to what it does not possess antisulfanilayomidny action.

Indications to use:

It is used for anesthesia before carrying out:

- measurements of intraocular pressure (tonometriya);

- gonioskopiya;

- diagnostic scraping of a conjunctiva;

- short-term operative measures on a cornea and a conjunctiva (including extraction of foreign bodys and seams from a cornea and a conjunctiva);

- by preparation for ophthalmologic operations.

Route of administration and doses:

Dig in in a conjunctival sac on 1 - 2 drop (but no more than 2-3 drops) before a research or an operative measure.

Features of use:

Pregnancy and lactation. During pregnancy and feeding by a breast drug should be used only in case the advantage for mother exceeds possible risk for a fruit and the child.

Side effects:

Local reactions: feeling of easy burning which disappears in process of development of the anesthetizing effect; allergic reactions: seldom - skin rash, an itch; hyperemia of mucous membranes.

Interaction with other medicines:

Norepinephrinum and others local alpha адреномиметики at the expense of vasoconstriction reduce absorption of lidocaine in a system blood stream, prolong and strengthen its action.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components.

With care: age up to 18 years.

Overdose:

Now about drug overdose cases lidocaine (at an instillation in a conjunctival sac) it was not reported. At overdose to cancel administration of lidocaine.

Storage conditions:

To store in the place protected from light at a temperature not above 15 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity - 3 years. The period of validity of drug ate openings - 1 month. Not to use later a period of validity, specified on packaging.
