Splenoportografiya  — a method of X-ray inspection of vessels of portal system.
The contrast agent entered into a spleen through an aspirating needle comes through splenic and portal veins to a liver. The subsequent X-ray inspection reveals filling of vessels of system of a portal vein. Portografiya can be made on G. E. Ostroverkhova by an operational exposure of an umbilical vein and injection of a contrast agent through her. X-ray films after administration of contrast solution allow to establish passability of splenic and portal veins and on filling of branches of a portal vein in a liver to reveal changes of its fabric.

The splenoportografiya at portal hypertensia, i.e. increase in pressure in system of a portal vein depending on various diseases of a liver (cirrhoses, tumors, fibrinferments of portal and splenic veins and other hepatolienal defeats) is shown. At suspicion on inflammatory processes of abdominal organs, especially in a spleen, at an echinococcosis, disturbance of coagulability of blood the puncture of a spleen is contraindicated. Therefore before a splenoportografiya investigate a gemokoagulogramma (coagulability of blood, a bleeding time, a prothrombin etc.). For a puncture prepare all necessary for operation under local anesthesia.

After an injection of morphine or Promedolum make under local anesthesia a spleen puncture in the seventh — the eighth mezhreberye on the srednepodmyshechny line and enter into a spleen 25 — 30 ml of 70% of Cardiotrastum, the trio trust, Diodonum in the warmed-up look and in 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 seconds do x-ray films or make 1 picture in 2 seconds after contrast introduction. At pictures in 45 seconds and 1 minute 30 seconds after introduction of contrast the massive shadow of a liver against the background of which defects of filling can differ is visible (tumors, cysts). Possible complications — bleedings, intolerance to iodine.
