Evkabal – the drug of preferential plant origin possessing expectorant and antiinflammatory actions.

Pharmacological action of Evkabal

The therapeutic effect of Evkabal is caused by action of the components of a plant origin entering it. So, methyl-isopropyl phenol and carvacrol (active agents of extract of a thyme) provide mucolytic, expectorant, spasmolytic and antimicrobic effects. Муколитический препарат Эвкабал

Release form

Drug Evkabal is produced in the form of syrup.

Syrup represents the transparent liquid with a dark brown shade having sweetish smack and the expressed smell. In pharmacy chains syrup is on sale packed into dark glass bottles of 100 ml. Bottles are sealed in cardboard boxes.

Indications to Evkabal's use

The instruction to Evkabal orders use of drug as an element of complex therapy at a number of respiratory diseases. In particular, it concerns diseases which are followed by cough (including spastic) and the hardly separated phlegm: tracheitis, tracheobronchitis, bronchitis.

Contraindications

Evkabal is not recommended to use in certain cases which list is given below:

at liver diseases;
during pregnancy and a lactation;
at hypersensitivity to any of drug components;
at alcohol addiction (since contains ethanol);
at epilepsy;
at brain injuries.

It is necessary to use with care drug at a diabetes mellitus, during observance of a diet with the limited use of carbohydrates, at children's age (in connection with the ethanol content).

Application instruction of Evkabal

According to the instruction Evkabal it is necessary to accept in an undiluted look, before food. The recommended doses differ depending on age of patients: Лекарственная форма Эвкабала - сироп

children of half a year till 1 year need to accept Evkabal on one teaspoon once a day;
reception twice a day also on one tsp is recommended to children of younger age;
children of school age should increase the volume of the taken medicine to 1 tablespoon, frequency to leave the same is twice a day;
adult patients can accept one or two tablespoons of Evkabal from 3 to 5 times a day.

Duration of drug intake is determined only by the doctor, being guided by disease severity and an individual condition of the patient. As a rule, within 2 weeks of reception of Evkabal it is possible to get rid of symptoms of easy forms of diseases. However even after disappearance of all symptoms of a disease administration of drug within 2 or 3 days is recommended.

In case of lack of improvements for 2-3 weeks after the beginning of reception it is necessary to consult with the doctor.

Side effects of Evkabal

Drug is most often transferred well, however there is a number of the reviews of Evkabala warning about possibility of allergic reactions during reception. First of all the allergy can arise owing to contents in means of alkyls-4-hydroxybenzoates.

Special instructions

Before reception it is necessary to consider that Evkabal contains 6,5% of ethanol.

Content of sucrose equals 0,6 mg/ml. One teaspoon (5 ml) contains sugar about 3 g, one tablespoon (10 ml) – 6 g.

Evkabal is not recommended to apply together with other antibechics.

Opacification of syrup or formation of a deposit has to become a cause of failure from administration of drug.

Storage conditions

It is necessary to store Evkabal at a temperature up to 20 °C, the lower level at the same time makes 2 °C. The period of validity at observance of conditions equals to 2 years.
