Korvaltab

Таблетки КорвалтабKorvaltab – drug with vasodilating, sedative and moderately spasmolytic action.

Form of release and structure

Korvaltab release in the form of tablets: round, flat, with facets, almost white or white color with impregnations, with a specific smell (on 10 pieces in blisters, on 2 or 10 blisters in a cardboard pack).

Active ingredients are a part of 1 tablet:

  • Phenobarbital – 7,5 mg;
  • Ethyl ether alpha бромизовалериановой acids – 8,2 mg;
  • Mint oil – 0,58 mg.

Auxiliary components: magnesium stearate, microcrystallic cellulose, potato starch, beta cyclodextrin, monohydrate of lactose.

Indications to use

  • The neurosises proceeding with an acrimony;
  • Hypertension and vegeto-vascular dystonia (along with other drugs);
  • Sleeplessness;
  • Tachycardia, unsharply expressed spasm of coronary vessels;
  • The enterospasms connected with neurovegetative frustration (as an antispasmodic).

Contraindications

  • Hepatic porphyria;
  • The expressed functional disturbances of kidneys and/or a liver;
  • Heavy heart failure;
  • Children's age (due to the lack of experience of use of Korvaltab for this age group of patients);
  • Hypersensitivity to drug components.

It is contraindicated to apply the medicines containing phenobarbital at a diabetes mellitus, an acute myocardial infarction, the expressed arterial hypotension, a depression, alcoholism, a myasthenia, medicinal and drug addiction, an obstructive syndrome, respiratory diseases with an asthma.

To the feeding and pregnant women Korvaltab do not appoint.

As lactose is a part of drug, patients with hereditary intolerance of lactose galactose are not recommended to accept it.

Korvaltab patients need to take with caution with arterial hypotension, hyperkinesias, a hyperthyroidism, a hypoadrenalism, acute and constant pains, acute intoxication medicines.

Route of administration and dosage

Korvaltab accept inside, to food.

The dosage and duration of a medical course is established by the doctor individually.

As a rule, Korvaltab appoint 2-3 times a day 1-2 tablets. The single dose increased to 3 tablets is applied at treatment of spasms of coronary vessels and tachycardia.

Side effects

Korvaltab is usually had well.

In some cases development of the following side effects can be observed:

  • Nervous system: weakness, fatigue, decrease in concentration of attention, ataxy, nystagmus, paradoxical excitement, incoordination, hallucinations, block of reactions, drowsiness, cognitive disturbances, confusion of consciousness, headache, slight dizziness;
  • Alimentary system: heavy feeling in epigastric area, locks, at long reception – vomiting, nausea, functional disturbances of a liver;
  • Cardiovascular system: bradycardia, arterial hypotension;
  • Musculoskeletal system: at long use – disturbance of bone formation;
  • Hemopoietic system: thrombocytopenia, anemia, agranulocytosis;
  • Immune system: hypersensitivity reactions, including allergic reactions (skin rash, an itch, a small tortoiseshell), a Quincke's disease;
  • Skin and mucous covers: toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stephens-Johnson's syndrome;
  • Others: the complicated breath.

Long reception of the medicines containing bromine can lead to poisoning with bromine, characterized by such symptoms as: depressive mood, oppression of the central nervous system, ataxy, apathy, confusion of consciousness, conjunctivitis, dacryagogue, rhinitis, purpura or acne.

Usually these side effects take place at decrease in a dose of Korvaltab or the termination of therapy.

Special instructions

During treatment of the use of alcoholic drinks it is necessary to avoid.

The phenobarbital which is Korvaltab's part can result in risk of development of a syndrome of Stephens-Johnson and Layell (it is the most probable – in the first weeks of use).

Long therapy is not recommended as long administration of drug can cause medicamentous dependence, accumulation of bromine in an organism and, as a result, poisoning with it.

In cases if pains in heart after Korvaltab's reception do not pass, it is necessary to see a doctor for an exception of an acute coronary syndrome.

Korvaltab can cause dizziness and drowsiness therefore during therapy by the patient it is not recommended to work with dangerous mechanisms, to manage vehicles and to perform the works demanding bystry motor and mental reactions and special attention.

Medicinal interaction

At simultaneous use of Korvaltab with some medicines there can be undesirable effects:

  • The medicines oppressing the central nervous system: mutual strengthening of action;
  • Analgetics, mestnoanesteziruyushchy drugs: strengthening of their action;
  • Valproic acid drugs, alcohol: strengthening of action of Korvaltab;
  • Medicines which are metabolized by liver enzymes (including monoamine oxidase inhibitors): extension of effect of phenobarbital;
  • Rifampicin: decrease in effect of phenobarbital;
  • Gold drugs: increase in risk of damage of kidneys;
  • Cardiac glycosides, indirect anticoagulants, antiviral, antimicrobic, antifungal, peroral hypoglycemic, antiepileptic, psychotropic, anticonvulsant, immunosuppressive, hormonal, antiarrhytmic, cytostatic, hypotensive drugs): acceleration of their metabolism;
  • Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (long simultaneous use): increase in risk of developing of bleeding and ulceration of a stomach;
  • Zidovudine: strengthening of toxicity of both drugs;
  • Methotrexate: increase in its toxicity.

Terms and storage conditions

To store in the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature up to 25 °C.
