Oxycortum

Oxycortum – the combined outside drug having antiinflammatory and antibacterial effect.

Form of release and structure

• Aerosol for external use: suspension of a homogeneous consistence, yellow color, has no mechanical inclusions, possesses a characteristic smell (on 55 ml in the aerosol bottles equipped with the valve with the raspylitelny device, 1 bottle in a pack cardboard);
• Ointment for external use: a homogeneous consistence, yellow color (on 10 g in aluminum tubas, 1 tuba in a pack cardboard).

Active agents in 1 bottle of an aerosol and 1 tuba of ointment:

• Oxytetracyclinum a hydrochloride – 300 mg;
• Hydrocortisone – 100 mg.

Auxiliary components of an aerosol: mix of butane, propane and isobutane (Drivosol 35A), lecithin, sorbitantrioleate (Span 85V), isopropyl myristate.

Additional substances of ointment: vaseline white.

Indications to use

• The bacterial infections of skin caused by microorganisms, sensitive to Oxytetracyclinum (staphylococcal, streptococcal, mixed), complicated by local allergic reactions: an anthrax, a folliculitis, an ugly face, a furuncle, a furunculosis, a pyoderma (staphylococcal, streptococcal), impetigo, the infected intertrigo, exfoliative and violent dermatitis of newborns;
• Allergodermatoza, complicated by accession of a bacterial infection (stafilo-, a streptoderma): atopic dermatitis (widespread neurodermatitis), an erythrosis, seborrhea, a mnogoformny erythema, psoriasis, eczema (including at children), пруриго (prurigo), a pruritic dermatosis, urticaria, dermatitis (including contact, solar, allergic, professional);
• Varicose ulcers of a shin;
• Frostbites;
• Burns of the I-II degree;
• Stings of insects.

Contraindications

Absolute:

• New growths and precancerous diseases of skin;
• Viral and fungal infections;
• Tuberculosis cutis;
• Perioral dermatitis;
• Rozatsea;
• Dermatomycoses;
• Syphilis;
• Skin reactions after vaccination;
• Period of pregnancy and lactation;
• Children's age up to 2 years;
• Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Route of administration and dosage

Oxycortum is intended for external use.

Ointment it is necessary to inflict a thin layer on the centers defeats, if necessary to apply an occlusive gauze bandage.

Irrigate with an aerosol affected areas within 3 seconds. The bottle needs previously to be stirred up well. It is necessary to spray drug from distance of 15-20 cm from the surface of skin.

Frequency rate of procedures: for ointment – 2-3 times a day, for an aerosol – from 2 to 4 times a day.

Course of treatment – 1-2 weeks.

To children 2 years are more senior it is allowed to apply drug on limited sites of skin, it is necessary to apply a short course (no more than 7 days).

Side effects

• Local reactions: irritation, itch and burning on site drug applications, aknepodobny rash, dryness and atrophy of skin, consecutive infections; at prolonged use on face skin – expansion of blood vessels, a skin atrophy, steroid eels, striya, teleangiectasias;
• Systemic actions: when putting drug on extensive body parts and/or during the long period – oppression of system гипоталамо - pituitary and adrenal system.

Special instructions

Oxycortum should not be applied it is long on sites of skin, big on the area.

To avoid hit of means in eyes. At hit of drug on mucous membranes – it is plentiful to wash out them cool water.

It is impossible to inhale the sprayed aerosol.

Treatment of diseases on face skin and in skin folds has to be the shortest (no more than 7 days).

It is impossible to apply an ointment/aerosol on the extensive surfaces of skin as the risk of development of the side effects inherent to steroid drugs of systemic action, including such serious phenomenon as oppression гипоталамо - pituitary and adrenal system appears (including a glucosuria and symptoms of a syndrome of Cushing). If it occurred, it is necessary to interrupt treatment with Oxycortum and to control cortisol level in urine.

At emergence of irritation in the place of application it is necessary to cancel Oxycortum and to carry out the corresponding therapy.

Oxytetracyclinum, as well as other antibacterial agents of a broad spectrum of activity, can lead to growth of number of resistant strains of stafilokokk and Candida альбиканс. In case of development of such infection performing the corresponding therapy is also necessary.

Oxycortum does not limit psychomotor activity, does not influence ability to drive the car and to work with difficult mechanisms.

The bottle is forbidden to be heated and opened since its contents are under pressure and easily ignites.

Medicinal interaction

The drugs containing Oxytetracyclinum cannot be applied along with drugs of silver and lead since they mutually inactivate action of each other.

During therapy it is not necessary to do a smallpox inoculation and to plan other types of immunization as Oxycortum has immunodepressive effect.

At the wrong or prolonged use of medicine on the surfaces of skin, big on the area, especially under occlusive bandages, a hydrocortisone reduces efficiency of anticoagulants, hypotensive drugs, insulin and peroral hypoglycemic drugs, and also reduces concentration in blood of salicylates and a prazikvantel.

At simultaneous use of the following drugs the risk of development of side effects increases:

• Anabolic steroids, oral contraceptives, estrogen, androgens – acne rash and a hirsutism;
• Cardiac glycosides – digitalis intoxication;
• Diuretics – a hypopotassemia;
• Tricyclic antidepressants, antihistaminic drugs, nitrates, holinoblokator – glaucoma;
• Azathioprinum, букарбан, antipsychotic means – a cataract.

Terms and storage conditions

To store in the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature no more than 25 ºС.

Period of validity – 2 years.
