Antidepressants (antidepressiva; Greek anti-– against; opposite property, action, situation + lat. depressum, deprimo – to oppress; synonyms: timoleptichesky means, timoleptik) – medicines which are applied to treatment of the mental disorders which are followed by a depression (amitriptyline, an imipramine, etc.).
