Arthrotomy

Arthrotomy (arthrotomia: Greek arthron – the joint relating to a joint + Greek tome – a section, a section; synonym: a capsulotomia) – surgery on opening of a cavity of a joint.

Allocate:

  • The arthrotomy drainage – is carried out for ensuring outflow from a joint cavity of exudate at purulent arthritises, in particular after gunshot wounds;
  • The arthrotomy true (arthrotomia vera) – is carried out for ensuring production to cavities of a joint of medical manipulations which are the purpose of the operation (an arthroplasty, a necretomy etc.).
