Asthenopia

Asthenopia (asthenopia; Greek asthenes – weak, easing, weakness + Greek opos, ops – an eye) – quickly coming fatigue of eyes during visual work, in particular at small distance from an eye to an object.

Allocate:

  • The asthenopia akkomodativny (asthenopia accomodativa) – is caused by an overstrain of a ciliary muscle of an eye in the course of accommodation at a presbyopy and a hypermetropia, its uneven reduction at an astigmatism, and also its acquired or inborn weakness;
  • The asthenopia muscular (asthenopia muscularis) – is caused by an overstrain of convergence or weakness of internal direct muscles of an eye; can proceed with development of squint and disturbances of solid vision;
  • The asthenopia symptomatic (asthenopia symptomatica) – is manifestation of an adynamy of various genesis.
