Bromine (Bromum, Br; Greek bromos – a stench) – chemical element of subgroup of halogens VII of group of periodic system of D. I. Mendeleyev, with the atomic mass of 79,904 and atomic number 35; represents dark-brown heavy liquid with a pungent smell; bromine (including its couples) is toxic for people; it is applied by production of medicines.
