Hemocytoblust (not recommended term; haemocytoblastus; Greek haima – blood + histologic cytus – a cell + Greek blastos – a germ, a sprout) – the term offered by the histologist A. A. Maximov (1874-1928) for definition of the undifferentiated hemopoietic cell representing according to his opinion, a parent cellular element of a hemopoiesis.
