Valya symptom

Valya symptom (E. Wal, domestic surgeon, 1833-1890):

  1. The asymmetric, rather steady, not moving abdominal distention measured to the touch noticeable by eye and giving at percussion a ringing tympanic sound, and in certain cases – capotement; is a gut torsion sign;
  2. The noise found over a blood vessel, synchronous with pulse; is a sign of injury of an artery, matters in the absence of outside bleeding.
