Wallenberg-Sachartschenko syndrome

Wallenberg-Sachartschenko syndrome (A. Wallenberg, German doctor, 1862-1949; M. A. Zakharchenko, Soviet neuropathologist, 1879-1953; synonyms: the syndrome is retroolivarny, a syndrome of thrombosis of a back lower cerebellar artery, a myelencephalon syndrome lateral) – the alternating bulbar syndrome noted at defeat of a dorsolateral zone of a myelencephalon owing to occlusion of a vertebral or back lower cerebellar artery, differing on the party of the pathological center – an ataxy, Horner's syndrome, paralysis of a voice muscle and a soft palate, and a face skin hypesthesia, and on the opposite side of a body – disorder of superficial sensitivity.
