Intrapleural pressure

Intrapleural pressure (tensio intrapleuralis; synonym: intrathoracic pressure) – pressure in a pleural cavity; it is normal of it value less atmospheric at the expense of a tone of respiratory muscles and an elastic energy of lungs.
