Dioktit

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 3000 mg of smectite of powder, dioctahedral in 4 g.

Excipients: aspartame, fragrance PX1496 Vanillin, granulated sugar.

Dioktit renders the anti-diarrheal, adsorbing, enveloping and gastrotsitoprotektivny action.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Medicine has expressed sorption (at the expense of diskoidno-crystal structure) and enveloping (owing to the high level of flowability) properties. Adsorbs the bacteria and viruses which are in a gleam of a GIT.

Has protective effect on a mucous membrane of a gullet, a stomach and intestines (stabilizes a mucous barrier). Forms polyvalent bonds with slime glycoproteins, increases duration of functioning of slime and exponentiates protection of a mucous membrane of a GIT against action of H+ - ions, bilious salts, intestinal microorganisms, their toxins and other irritants. It is characterized by insignificant effect of swelling. In therapeutic doses does not influence motility of intestines.

Pharmacokinetics. Dioktit it is not soaked up from a GIT, brought out of an organism in not changed look.

Indications to use:

- the symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea at children and babies is more senior than one month as a part of complex rehydration therapy;

- a symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea at adults;

- symptomatic treatment of chronic diarrhea;

- diarrhea of infectious genesis (as a part of complex therapy);

- a symptomatic treatment of heartburn, a meteorism and discomfort in a stomach at gastrointestinal pathology (the esophagitis, gastritis, gastroduodenit, a peptic ulcer of a stomach and duodenum, colitis).

Route of administration and doses:

Treatment of acute diarrhea:
- children from 1 month to 1 year: 2 bags a day within 3 days, then on 1 bag a day;
- children of 1 year are also more senior: 4 bags a day within 3 days, then 2 bags a day;
- adults: on average 3 bags a day. In an initiation of treatment the daily dose can be doubled;

Other indications:
- children from 1 month to 1 year: 1 bag a day;
- children from 1 year to 2 years: 1-2 bags a day;
- children are more senior than 2 years: 2-3 bags a day;
- adults: on average 3 bags a day.

For reception at children to dissolve contents of a bag in 50 ml of water and to distribute on several receptions during the day, or to stir carefully with what - нибудь a semi-fluid product: broth, porridge, compote, puree, baby food.

For reception at adults just before the use to dissolve contents of a bag in half of glass of water.

Maximum course of treatment 3 days. At an esophagitis drug of Dioktit should be accepted inside after food, at other indications - between meals. At the admission of one or several doses administration of drug should be resumed in the usual mode, without doubling a dose.

Features of use:

Drug should be used with care at patients at whom in the anamnesis chronic locks took place.

At treatment of acute diarrhea at children drug is used in combination with early purpose of rehydration therapy for the purpose of the prevention of development of dehydration.

At adults the regidratation is appointed if necessary.

Duration of a regidratation and way of its carrying out (peroral or intravenous) has to be defined by the attending physician depending on age and a clinical picture of a disease.

The patient has to be informed that:

- it is necessary to carry out a regidratation by salty or sweet solutions to fill loss of liquid because of diarrhea (the daily norm of consumption of liquid for the adult makes up to 2 liters);
- to watch a food allowance during diarrhea: to exclude crude fruit and vegetables, spicy and fried food, preserved foods and drinks from food.

Drug contains sucrose. Its use is not recommended at patients with intolerance of fructose, disturbance of absorption of glucose and a galactose or a lack of invertase/isomaltase.

Drug contains aspartame which is to phenylalanine derivatives that constitutes danger to patients with a fenilketonuriya.

The patient has to be warned that if pains in a stomach are followed by temperature or vomiting, and also if after reception of medicine within 3 days the state did not improve, it is necessary to see a doctor behind consultation.

Use at pregnancy and a lactation. Reliable data about teratogenecity at animals are absent. In clinical practice embriotoksichesky or fetotoksichesky effects are not revealed. Nevertheless there are no sufficient data about an exception of any risk when using drug during pregnancy and in the period of a lactation. Respectively, considering the fact that diosmektit it is not soaked up, its use can be considered during pregnancy and in the period of a lactation if it is necessary.

Influence on ability to drive the car and to work with mechanisms. Data are absent.

Side effects:

At conduct of clinical trials it was reported about cases of side reactions at administration of drug which, as a rule, were insignificant, short-term and, are generally connected with the alimentary system.

Frequency of side reactions was estimated as: frequent (≥ 1/100, ≤1/10), infrequent
(≥ 1/1000, ≤1/100).

From system of digestion. Often: the lock, as a rule, passing after drug dose adjustment, but in certain cases was required the treatment termination. Not often: meteorism, vomiting.

During the marketing period cases of reactions of hypersensitivity to drug were registered (including the following: urticaria, rash, itch, and Quincke's edema) and aggravation of locks.

Interaction with other medicines:

At simultaneous use of Dioktit can reduce the speed and extent of absorption of other medicines.

It is not recommended to accept drug along with other medicines.

Time interval between Dioktit's reception and other medicines has to make 1-2 hours.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to a diosmektit or one of drug components, intestinal impassability, a fenilketonuriya.

Overdose:

Strengthening of side effects, lock, bezoar is possible. Now information on overdose cases the medicines containing dioctahedral smectite in the structure no.

Storage conditions:

To store in the place protected from moisture at a temperature not over 25 ºС. To store in the place, unavailable to children. Period of validity 2 years.
