General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 36 g of a polikrezulen.

Excipients: the water demineralized to 100 g.

Antibacterial drug for topical administration.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Antibacterial drug is active concerning gram-positive - Gram (+) and gram-negative - Gram (-) of a bacterium, including: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus vulgaris, Salmonella spp. Drug is active also concerning trichomonads and Candida albicans. Has also cauterizing and knitting effect. Possesses local vasoconstrictive and haemo static action. Accelerates regeneration of cells of an epithelium. At topical administration coagulates nekrotizirovanny fabric, forming a scab of white opalescent color which is torn away in 2-7 days. Use of Vagotil does not lead to emergence of hems.

Indications to use:

- An erosion of a vagina and neck of uterus (including caused by pressure of pessaries).
- Vaginita, the caused Trichomonas vaginalis and Candida albicans.
- Bleeding after carrying out a diagnostic biopsy and removal of polyps, electrothermic coagulation of an erosion of a neck of uterus. 
- Topical treatment of the hardly healing wounds, including trophic ulcers of a shin.
- With the haemo static purpose at small surgical and dental interventions.

Route of administration and doses:

Drug is used only for topical administration.

At an erosion of a vagina and neck of uterus for 1-3 minutes to put the tampon impregnated with drug excess of drug to remove with a dry tampon. It is necessary to repeat the procedure 2-3 times a week, but no more than 10 days.

At ulcers, cracks of a mucous membrane, burns, and also apply the solution received at cultivation of 5-15 ml of drug in 1 l of warm water to syringing of a vagina.

For the purpose of a stop of bleeding (hemostasis) on the bleeding place impose the tampon moistened with drug for 1-3 minutes.

Features of use:

Drug is used strictly on doctor's orders.

Drug is used only for topical administration.

At drug use other medicines for local action are not used.

At use in stomatology to avoid hit of drug on an adamantine substance of tooth, in case of contact with teeth carefully to rinse a mouth warm water.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions (local irritation, itch, burning, rash, anaphylaxis); when holding gynecologic procedures – reddening, hypostasis of a vagina and vulva, feeling of a foreign body in a vagina; when using drug in stomatology damage of an adamantine substance of tooth.

Interaction with other medicines:

To the drugs having alkali reaction there is an exothermic reaction strengthening a corrosive burn of mucous membranes.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Pregnancies and lactation.

Use of drug during periods at treatment of gynecologic diseases.

At use of drug for treatment of gynecologic diseases it is necessary to refuse sex life and not to use soap solutions at hygienic procedures.

Overdose:

Cases of overdose of the drug Vagotil are not known.

Storage conditions:

List B. To store in the dry, protected from light place, at a temperature not over 25 ºС. To store in the place, unavailable to children. Period of validity 3 years. To handle care – strong acid.
