Monocytosis

Description:

Monocytosis — increase in level of monocytes more than 1 - 109/l.

Monocytosis symptoms:

The symptomatology is defined by the main pathology against the background of which there was a monocytosis.

Monocytosis reasons:

It is characteristic of an infectious mononucleosis, a histiocytosis X, miyelodisplastichesky syndromes, a monocytic leukosis, a myeloleukemia, a lymphogranulomatosis.

The insignificant monocytosis appears at infectious diseases: scarlet fever, chicken pox, a sapropyra, epidemic parotitis, VGA, leukoses, rickettsioses, protozoan infections, malaria, a brucellosis, active tuberculosis, syphilis, and also in the period of reconvalescence after acute infections. Emergence of a moderate monocytosis is characteristic of a sarcoidosis, nonspecific ulcer colitis, kollagenoz, an infectious endocarditis. Leukemoid tests of monocytic type meet seldom therefore identification of a monocytosis more than 1 - 109/l demands consultation of the hematologist.

The factors causing a monocytosis: reception of griseofulvin, haloperidol, poisoning with phosphorus and tetrachlorethane.

Treatment of the Monocytosis:

Treatment is defined by the main pathology against the background of which there was a monocytosis.
