General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 25 mg  of carbomer 974P in 10 g of gel.

Excipients: a benzalkoniya chloride (0.06 mg / 1), sorbitol, a lysine monohydrate, sodium acetate, polyvinyl alcohol, water for and.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Drug for moistening and protection of a cornea. Офтагель® contains the carbomer representing high-molecular carboxyvinylpolymer (polyacrylate). Carbomer increases viscosity of a tear, forming the protective moistening film by cornea surfaces, thickens mutsinovy and water layers of the lacrimal film. Офтагель® reduces the irritation symptoms connected with a syndrome of a dry eye which includes compensatory dacryagogue, an itch, burning, feeling of a foreign body in an eye and visual exhaustion.

The long contact of the lacrimal film with a cornea makes favorable impact at decrease in secretion of the lacrimal liquid. At simultaneous use of Oftagel® can prolong absorption of other ophthalmologic medicines.

Pharmacokinetics. Because of rather big size of a molecule of carbomer penetration through a cornea is improbable.

Indications to use:

The diseases which are followed by a syndrome of a dry eye, the shown compensatory dacryagogue, an itch, burning, feeling of a foreign body in an eye including:

— dry keratoconjunctivitis;

— irritation of eyes (as a result of influence of dust, smoke, during the work on the computer - "office eye syndrome");

— insufficient slezootdeleniye;

— Stephens-Johnson's syndrome;

— Shegren's disease;

— the diseases a century leading to insufficient contact of a cornea with a tear.

Recovery therapy after laser and surgical interventions on a cornea.

Route of administration and doses:

Офтагель® dig in on 1 drop of 1-4 times/days depending on degree of manifestation of symptoms.

Before use of drug it is necessary to wash up hands; before Oftagel's instillation the head should be inclined back, to delay a lower eyelid and to dig 1 drop of gel in a conjunctival sac between a lower eyelid and an eye.

It is not necessary to touch an eye and a century a pipette tip. After use of drug it is necessary to close a bottle at once.

Features of use:

Use at pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Adequate controlled drug use studies of Oftagel® at pregnant women were not conducted. Use of drug at pregnancy and in the period of a lactation perhaps only on doctor's orders.

Benzalkoniya the chloride which is a part of drug can be absorbed and decolour contact lenses. Therefore before Oftagel's use contact lenses should be taken out and established in 30 min. after a drug instillation again.

In need of appointment along with Oftagel of other eye drops of Oftagel® the last should dig in with an interval not less than 15 min.

It must be kept in mind that the bottle with drug is intended for use only at one person.

Influence on ability to driving of motor transport and to control of mechanisms. Gel eye Oftagel® can cause short-term decrease in visual acuity. Before driving of the car or work with mechanical devices it is necessary to wait until visual acuity completely is recovered.

Side effects:

Local reactions: right after an instillation passing misting of sight, a short-term burning sensation and local irritation of eyes are possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Medicinal interaction ^{of the drug Oftagel®} with other drugs is not studied.

Contraindications:

— hypersensitivity to drug components.

Overdose:

About cases of overdose it was not reported.

Storage conditions:

Drug should be stored in the unavailable to children, protected from light place at a temperature from 15 °C to 25 °C. A period of validity - 30 months. Not to use drug after the expiry date specified on packaging. After opening the bottle with drug should be stored in cardboard packaging in the turned look (for simplification of intake of gel). A period of validity after opening of a bottle - 1 month.
