Feksadin

General characteristics. Structure:

Active veshchestvo:feksofenadina hydrochloride of 120 mg or 180 mg

Auxiliary ingredients:
Croscarmellose sodium, cellulose microcrystallic, starch prezhelatinizirovanny, silicon dioxide colloid, povidone, magnesium stearate, the water purified.

Pharmacological properties:

Feksofenadin a hydrochloride is H1 blocker – histamine receptors, almost deprived of sedative action. Feksofenadin is pharmacological an active metabolite of a terfenadin.
The antihistaminic effect of medicine is shown in 1 hour after reception, reaches a maximum in 6 hours and proceeds within 24 hours. After 28 days of reception tolerance development is not observed. At oral administration of doses from 10 mg to 130 mg there is a linear dependence "dose effect". The dose of 120 mg is sufficient for 24-hour efficiency of medicine (at allergic rhinitis). In a dose to 240 mg drug does not cause changes of an interval of QT.

Indications to use:

Seasonal allergic rhinitis: sneezing, an itch, rhinitis, reddening mucous an eye and other symptoms of hay fever – a tablet of 120 mg;
Chronic idiopathic small tortoiseshell: reddening, a skin itch and other symptoms of a small tortoiseshell – a tablet of 180 mg.

Route of administration and doses:

Tablets are intended for intake.
The recommended dose of a feksofenadin at seasonal allergic rhinitis for adults and children of 12 years is also more senior makes 120 mg once a day.
The recommended dose of a feksofenadin at a chronic small tortoiseshell for adults and children is more senior than 12 years makes 180 mg once a day.
Side effect:
Headache, drowsiness, nausea, dyspepsia, dizziness.
Seldom (less than 1 case on 1000 appointments): feeling of fatigue, sleeplessness, nervousness, sleep disorder.
In some cases: skin rash, small tortoiseshell, skin itch, other reactions of hypersensitivity: Quincke's disease, asthma.

Side effects:

Manifestation of side effects (headache, drowsiness, nausea, dizziness) meet not more often than at placebo reception.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to any of drug components, pregnancy, the lactation period, children's age (up to 12 years), a chronic renal failure.

Overdose:

Symptoms: dizziness, drowsiness and dryness in a mouth. In case of overdose carrying out standard measures for removal from digestive tract of not absorbed drug is recommended. The symptomatic and maintenance therapy is recommended. The hemodialysis is inefficient.
