Trikardin

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredients: spirit extraction of a valerian of rhizomes with roots, a motherwort of a grass, a hawthorn of fruits (2:2:1):30.

Pharmacological properties:

Trikardin – the combined drug of a plant origin: contains spirit extraction of rhizomes with roots of a valerian, grass of a motherwort, hawthorn fruits. An effective agent of drug is the complex of biologically active agents - valepotriat, valerianic acid, iridoid, flavonoids, glycosides, essential oil, etc. Drug has moderate sedative and hypotensive effect.

Valerian. Valerianic acid and valepotriata possess spasmolytic action. The complex of biologically active agents of a valerian slows down a cordial rhythm and expands coronary vessels. Has multilateral effect on an organism, oppresses the central nervous system, lowers her excitability, facilitates approach of a natural dream. The valerian has cholagogue effect, increases secretory activity of digestive tract.

Hawthorn. Active ingredients of a hawthorn (flavonoids – meletin, гиперин, гиперозид, витексин) lower excitability of TsNS and a cardiac muscle, promote increase in contractility of the last, improvement of coronary and cerebral circulation, eliminate dizziness. The hawthorn contributes to normalization of a cordial rhythm that it is caused as it is supposed, the action mechanism characteristic of antiaritmik of the III class. Has spasmolytic effect, selectively expanding vessels of heart and brain; possesses hypotensive action; contributes to normalization of venous pressure, improves functions of vascular walls (increases elasticity of a vascular wall of arterioles). In pilot studies it is shown that drugs of a hawthorn have anti-atherosclerotic effect.

The motherwort renders the expressed sedative, hypotensive, negative chronotropic and cardiotonic effect.

Indications to use:

As sedative: the increased nervous irritability; the neurotic and asthenoneurotic frustration which are followed by sleep disorders; the neurasthenia which is followed by mental and physical fatigue; vegeto-vascular dystonia.

As a part of a combination therapy: migraine, hysteria, spasm of bodies of digestive tract, renal and hepatic colic, easy form of labile arterial hypertension.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside, in 30 minutes prior to food. The mode of dosing is set individually depending on a state and age of the patient. On 20 - 40 drops on one reception to drink divorced in 30-50 ml of boiled water 2-3 times a day. To part just before reception. A course of treatment – 1-1,5 months.

Features of use:

Medical effect of drug is shown at systematic, prolonged course use. At emergence of symptoms of oppression of the central nervous system the dose is reduced or temporarily (for 5-7 days) cancel medicine, then drug is appointed in smaller doses.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions: seldom - urticaria, an itch.

From the alimentary system: a lock (at prolonged use).

From the central nervous system: slackness, dizziness, delay of pulse, drowsiness, depression, weakness, decrease in working capacity (at prolonged use in high doses).

Interaction with other medicines:

Strengthens effect of hypnotic drugs, anxiolytic, analgeziruyushchy, sedatives. Drug can be combined with cardiotonic and antihypertensives. Strengthens effect of cardiac glycosides. Simultaneous use of drug from antiaritmika of the III class (propranolol, etc.), and also with tsizapridy is not recommended.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to any of drug components, children's age up to 12 years, the I trimester of pregnancy, breastfeeding.

With care: hypotonia, children's age from 12 to 18 years, the II-III trimester of pregnancy.

Overdose:

In case of single-step administration of drug in the doses which are repeatedly exceeding one-time strengthening of side effects of drug, discomfort from digestive tract is noted, depression, drowsiness or excitement, nausea, vomiting. Treatment: induction of vomiting, a gastric lavage (no later than in 2 hours after administration of drug). Symptomatic therapy.
