Trikardin

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredients: rhizomes with roots of a valerian of 50 mg, a grass of a motherwort of 50 mg, leaves of a hawthorn of 25 mg.

Pharmacological properties:

Trikardin – the combined drug of a plant origin: contains rhizomes with valerian roots, a motherwort grass, hawthorn leaves. Drug has moderate sedative and hypotensive effect.

Indications to use:

As sedative: the increased nervous irritability; the neurotic and asthenoneurotic frustration which are followed by sleep disorders; neurasthenia; vegeto-vascular dystonia.

As a part of a combination therapy: migraine, hysteria, spasm of bodies of digestive tract, renal and hepatic colic, easy form of labile arterial hypertension.

Route of administration and doses:

Drug is used inside on 2 capsules on reception by 2 times a day in 20-30 min. prior to food. Capsules are swallowed without chewing, washing down with enough liquid (1/3-1/2 glasses). Duration of a course of treatment makes not less than 4-6 weeks.

Features of use:

At emergence of symptoms of oppression of TsNS of a dose reduce or temporarily (for 5-7 days) cancel medicine, then appoint drug in smaller doses.

Side effects:

At prolonged use of drug in high doses slackness, dizziness, delay of pulse, drowsiness, depression, weakness, decrease in working capacity are possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Trikardin strengthens effect of hypnotic drugs, anxiolytic, analgeziruyushchy, sedatives. Drug can be combined with cardiotonic and antihypertensives. Strengthens effect of cardiac glycosides. Simultaneous use of drug from antiaritmika of the II class (propranolol, etc.), and also with tsizapridy is not recommended.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to any of drug components, a peptic ulcer of a stomach and a 12-perstny gut, erosive gastritis (in an aggravation phase).

Use of drug for children aged up to 12 years, and also in the I trimester of pregnancy is not recommended.

Precautionary measures

Not to accept less than in 2 hours prior to work to drivers of transport and people whose profession demands the increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Overdose:

Symptoms. In case of single-step administration of drug in the doses which are repeatedly exceeding one-time strengthening of side effects of drug, discomfort from digestive tract is noted, depression, drowsiness or excitement, nausea, vomiting.

Treatment: induction of vomiting, a gastric lavage (no later than in 2 hours after administration of drug). Symptomatic therapy.
