Ethoxydale

General characteristics. Structure:

Description: solution for in/in and introductions in oil colourless or yellowish-brownish.

Active ingredient:  1 ml of ethylmethylhydroxypyridine malate of 50 mg;

Excipients: atsetilglutaminovy acid - 34 mg, деанол - 16 mg, glycine - 0.1 mg, dinatrium эдетат - 0.5 mg, water for and - to 1 ml.

Pharmacological properties:

Этоксидол® is inhibitor of free radical processes, renders membranoprotektorny, anti-hypoxemic, nootropic, anticonvulsant, anxiolytic action, increases resistance of an organism to a stress.

Этоксидол® has anti-ischemic properties, improves a blood stream in an ischemia zone, limits a zone of ischemic damage, finds hypolipidemic action, reduces the content of the general cholesterol and lipoproteids of low density in blood serum.

Drug increases resistance of an organism to influence of various disturbing factors, to kislorodzavisimy morbid conditions (shock, a hypoxia and ischemia, disturbances of cerebral circulation, intoxication alcohol and antipsychotic means (neuroleptics)).

Drug improves brain metabolism and blood supply of a brain, improves microcirculation and rheological properties of blood, reduces aggregation of thrombocytes. Stabilizes membrane structures of blood cells (erythrocytes and thrombocytes) at hemolysis.

The mechanism of effect of drug is caused by its antioxidant, anti-hypoxemic and membranoprotektorny action. It inhibits peroxide oxidation of lipids, increases activity of a superoksidoksidaza, the lipid protein raises a ratio, reduces viscosity of a membrane, increases its flowability. Modulates activity of membrane-bound enzymes (kaltsiynezavisimy phosphodiesterase, adenylatecyclase, acetylcholinesterase), receptor complexes (benzodiazepine, GAMK, atsetilkholinovy) that increases their ability of linkng with ligands, promotes preservation of the structurally functional organization of biomembranes, transport of neurotransmitters and improvement of synoptic transfer.

 

Pharmacokinetics. Absorption

At introduction in oil drug is defined in a blood plasma for 4 h after introduction. TCmax makes 0.25 h Cmax at introduction of a dose of 100 mg – 0.3-1.06 mkg/ml. Indications to use:

Route of administration and doses:

Этоксидол® appoint in oil and in/in (struyno or kapelno).

At an infusional way of introduction drug should be dissolved in 0.9% chloride sodium solution.

Doses select individually. Begin therapy with a dose of 50-100 mg 1-3, gradually raising to obtaining therapeutic effect.

In/in struyno drug administer slowly within 5-7 min., kapelno - with a speed of 40-60 thaws/min. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 800 mg.

At acute disorders of cerebral circulation of Etoksidol® appoint in complex therapy in the first 2-4 days in/in (kapelno) in a dose of 200-300 mg, then - 3 Duration of treatment, in oil on 100 mg, - 10-14 days.

At distsirkulyatorny encephalopathy in a decompensation phase - in/in (struyno or kapelno) in a dose of 100 mg 2-3 within 14 days, then - in oil on 100 mg 2 within 14 days.

For course prevention of distsirkulyatorny encephalopathy - in oil 100 mg in a dose 2 within 10-14 days.

At easy cognitive disturbances at patients of advanced age and at alarming frustration - in oil 100-300 mg/days in a daily dose within 14-30 days.

At an abstinence alcoholic syndrome - in oil 100-200 mg in a dose 2-3 or in/in kapelno 1-2 within 5-7 days.

At acute intoxication antipsychotic means - in/in in a dose of 50-300 mg/days within 7-14 days.

Features of use:

Influence on ability to driving of motor transport and to control of mechanisms

During treatment it is necessary to be careful at control of vehicles and occupation other potentially dangerous types of activity demanding the increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Side effects:

Perhaps: dryness and "metal" smack in a mouth, feelings of "the spreading heat" in all body, an unpleasant smell, irritation in a throat and discomfort in a thorax, feeling of shortage of air (as a rule, are connected with excessively high rate of administering and have short-term character); at prolonged use - nausea, a meteorism; sleep disorders (drowsiness or disturbance of backfilling).

Interaction with other medicines:

Strengthens effect of benzodiazepine anxiolytics, anticonvulsants (carbamazepine), protivoparkinsonichesky means (levodopa).

Reduces toxic effects of alcohol.

Contraindications:

— pregnancy;

— lactation period;

— age up to 18 years;

— hypersensitivity to drug or its components.

With care: allergic diseases and reactions in the anamnesis.

 

Use of the drug ETOKSIDOL® at pregnancy and feeding by a breast
Этоксидол® it is contraindicated at pregnancy and in the period of a lactation since strictly controlled clinical trials of safety of use of drug at pregnancy and in the period of a lactation it was not carried out.

 

Use for elderly patients
At easy cognitive disturbances ubolny advanced age and at alarming frustration - in oil 100-300 mg in a daily dose / within 14-30 days.

 

Use for children
It is contraindicated to children up to 18 years.

Overdose:

Symptoms: sleep disorders (sleeplessness, in certain cases drowsiness); at in introduction - insignificant and short-term (to 1.5-2 h) increase in the ABP.

Treatment: as a rule, it is not required - symptoms disappear independently within a day. In hard cases at sleeplessness - nitrazepam of 10 mg, oxazepam of 10 mg or diazepam of 5 mg. At excessive increase in the ABP - antihypertensives under control of the ABP.

Storage conditions:

Drug should be stored in dry, protected from light, the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not above 25 °C. A period of validity - 2 years.

Not to use after expiry date.
