General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: кортексин - 10 mg (a complex of water-soluble polypeptide fractions), excipients: glycine - 12 mg (stabilizer)

Pharmacological properties:

Korteksin supports a complex of the low-molecular water-soluble polypeptide fractions getting through a blood-brain barrier directly to nervous cells. Drug renders nootropic, neurotyre-tread, antioxidant and tkanespetsifichesky action.

Nootropic – improves the highest functions of a brain, processes of training and memory, concentration of attention, stability at various stressful influences.

Neurotyre-tread – protects neurons from defeat by various internal neurotoxic causes (a glutamate, calcium ions, free radicals), reduces toxic effects of psychotropic substances.

Antioxidant – inhibits peroxide oxidation of lipids in neurons, increases survival of neurons in the conditions of an oxidative stress and a hypoxia.

Tkanespetsificheskoye – activates metabolism of neurons of the central and peripheral nervous system, reparative processes, promotes improvement of functions of a cerebral cortex and the general tone of a nervous system. KORTEKSIN is caused by activation of peptides of neurons and neurotrophic factors of a brain; optimization of balance of metabolism of exciting and brake amino acids, dopamine, serotonin; Gamkergichesky influence; decrease in level of paroxysmal convulsive activity of a brain, ability to improve its bioelectric activity; prevention of formation of free radicals (products of peroxide oxidation of lipids).

Indications to use:

In complex therapy of disturbances of cerebral circulation, a craniocereberal injury and its effects, encephalopathies of various genesis, cognitive disturbances (dysmnesia and thinking), acute and chronic encephalitis and encephalomyelitis, epilepsy, asthenic states (nadsegmentarny vegetative frustration), reduced ability to training, delay of psychomotor and speech development in children, various forms of cerebral palsy.

Route of administration and doses:

The drug is administered intramusculary. Bottle contents before an injection waters for injections or 0,9% of solution of sodium of chloride dissolve in 1-2 ml 0,5% of solution of Procainum (novocaine), directing a needle to a bottle wall in order to avoid foaming, and enter once daily: the adult in a dose of 10 mg within 10 days; to children at body weight to 20 kg in a dose of 0,5 mg/kg, with body weight more than 20 kg – in a dose of 10 mg within 10 days.

If necessary conduct a repeated course in 3–6 months. At a polusharny ischemic stroke in acute and early recovery the periods the adult in a dose of 10 mg 2 times a day (in the morning and in the afternoon) within 10 days, with a repeated course in 10 days.

Features of use:

Use during pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Use of drug during pregnancy is contraindicated. In need of purpose of drug feeding by a breast should be stopped.

Children. Drug is used in pediatric practice. 

Ability to influence speed of response at control of vehicles or work with other mechanisms. Does not influence.

Side effects:

Data on side effects did not arrive. Individual hypersensitivity to drug components is possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Korteksin together with other medicines of peptide structure is not recommended to use. It is not recommended to enter in one syringe with other medicines. It is not recommended to use novocaine as solvent.

Contraindications:

Individual intolerance of drug. Drug is contraindicated at pregnancy (due to the lack of these clinical trials). In need of purpose of drug in the period of a lactation it is necessary to stop breastfeeding (due to the lack of these clinical trials).

Overdose:

Cases of overdose are not described.

Storage conditions:

In the place protected from light, at a temperature from 2 to 20 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children.

Packaging:

Lyophilisate for preparation of solution for intramuscular introduction, 10 mg. On 22 mg of lyophilisate in a bottle with a capacity of 5 ml, on 5 bottles in a blister strip packaging from a film of PVC and aluminum foil. On the 2nd blister strip packagings in a pack from a cardboard together with the application instruction.
