Paralysis of phonatory bands

Description:

Paralysis of phonatory bands results from a disease or damage of one of nerves on which momentum transfer to the muscles providing the movements of phonatory bands is carried out.

Symptoms of Paralysis of phonatory bands:

Unilateral paralysis (the most common form), results in weakness of phonatory bands and hoarseness of a voice. Bilateral paralysis, except weakness of phonatory bands, causes impassability of respiratory tracts if sheaves were paralyzed in a close state.

Reasons of Paralysis of phonatory bands:

Paralysis of phonatory bands usually is caused by accidental cutting of a nerve during a thyroid gland operation. Sometimes paralysis develops owing to a prelum that is observed at an aortic aneurysm, increase in the lower camera of heart, at a cancer tumor, an enlargement of the thyroid gland, a neck injury. The neuritis which developed as a result of an infection, poisoning with metals or hysteria can be the cause of paralysis.

Treatment of Paralysis of phonatory bands:

At unilateral paralysis teflon injections are appointed. This procedure causes increase in the struck phonatory band and provides its best smykaniye with other phonatory band that usually strengthens a voice and protects respiratory tracts from aspiration.

The alternative procedure - introduction of an implant through a section in a neck. The implant promotes improvement of muscle work, putting a phonatory band in action. If paralysis bilateral and voice folds are shifted to the central line, tracheotomy can be necessary.
