Eucalyptus tincture

General characteristics. Structure:

Main physical and chemical properties: transparent liquid of greenish-brown color with a specific smell; formation of a deposit in the course of storage is allowed.
Structure: 1 bottle contains: active ingredient: tinctures of leaves of an eucalyptus (1:5) — 25 ml.
Excipient: alcohol of ethyl 70%.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. An eucalyptus tincture contains in the structure tannins, ellagic acid, flavonoids, pitches, wax, essential oil which part different terpenic connections, especially active concerning the gram-positive, gram-negative microorganisms having an adverse effect on mushrooms and protozoa are. The eucalyptus oppresses growth of golden staphylococcus, escherichias, tubercular mycobacteria, trichomonads, a dysenteric amoeba. The main component of essential oil is tsineolmonotsiklichesky terpene. An eucalyptus tincture has the antiseptic, antiinflammatory and disinfecting action caused by the oxidizing effect of tsineolmonotsiklichesky terpene and antiinflammatory influence connected practically with all physiologically active agents which are its part.

Indications to use:

Eucalyptus tincture is applied at inflammatory diseases of upper respiratory tracts and an oral cavity, and also at sleep disorders and easy forms of neurosises and neurotic frustration.

Route of administration and doses:

Eucalyptus tincture is accepted inside, and also applied to rinsing and steam inhalations.

Adults are recommended to use inside till 15-30 tincture drops 3–4 times a day after food. To children 12 years at the rate of 1 drop for  1 year of life 3–4 times a day after food are more senior.

For rinsing part 10–15 drops of tincture in 200 ml of warm boiled water.
Steam inhalations carry out by means of inhalers of any type, using the Eucalyptus tincture in not divorced state or after the previous cultivation by its water (as for rinsing).

Duration of use of drug depends on the reached medical effect which is defined by the doctor.

Features of use:

The patients accepting the Eucalyptus tincture inside have to abstain from control of vehicles and work with potentially dangerous mechanisms.

Side effects:

At hypersensitivity to drug there can be allergic reactions, sometimes — contact dermatitis ( in lips). At emergence of these reactions use of drug is stopped.

Interaction with other medicines:

 It is not established.

Contraindications:

Eucalyptus tincture is contraindicated at individual intolerance of drug.

As alcohol is a part of drug, tincture is not recommended to be used inside to children up to 12 years and to women during the periods of pregnancy and feeding by a breast.

Overdose:

 It is not established.

Storage conditions:

To store in cool (8–15 °C), protected from light and the place, unavailable to children. At storage loss of a deposit is allowed.
