Actovegin ointment

General characteristics. Structure:

100 g of ointment contain:
active agent: blood components - deproteined hemoderivative of blood of calfs: 5 ml (соотв. 0,2 g of dry weight);
excipients: paraffin white, cetyl alcohol, cholesterol, methylparahydroxybenzoate, пропилпарагидрокспбензоат, the water purified.

Description: homogeneous ointment of white color.

Pharmacological properties:

АКТОВЕГИН® - the antigipoksant, activates metabolism of glucose and oxygen.
АКТОВЕГИН® causes increase in cellular power metabolism. Its activity is confirmed by increase in consumption and increase in utilization of glucose and oxygen cells. These two effects are interfaced, they cause increase in metabolism of ATP and, therefore, increase energy balance. Stimulation and acceleration of process of the healing which is characterized by the increased energy consumption is result of it.

Indications to use:

• Wounds and inflammatory diseases of skin and mucous membranes, such, as: solar, thermal, corrosive burns in an acute stage, cuts of skin, a graze, scratch, a crack
For the purpose of improvement of regeneration of fabric after burns, including after a burn the boiling liquid or steam.
• Ulcers of a varicose origin or other becoming wet ulcers.
• For prevention and treatment of decubituses.
• For prevention and treatment of reactions from skin and mucous, caused by influence of radiation.

Route of administration and doses:

Outwardly.
The course of treatment makes not less than 12 days and proceeds throughout the entire period of active regeneration. Frequency rate of use - not less than 2 times a day.
Ulcers, wounds and inflammatory diseases of skin and mucous membranes: as a rule, as the last link in step-by-step "three-stage treatment" using АКТОВЕГИНа® 20% in the form of gel and 5% of cream, АКТОВЕГИН® 5% ointment is applied by a thin layer,
For prevention of decubituses ointment is rubbed in skin in zones of the increased risk.
With a chain of prevention of emergence of radiation defeats of АКТОВЕГИН® 5% ointment is applied with a thin layer directly after radiation therapy and in intervals between sessions.
In case of absence or insufficiency of effect of use of АКТОВЕГИНа® 5% in the form of ointment, it is necessary to see a doctor.

Side effects:

Usually drug is transferred well.
At the patients having in the anamnesis of reaction of hypersensitivity allergic reactions in rare instances can develop.

Interaction with other medicines:

Now it is unknown.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug AKTOVEGIN® or similar drugs. Use at pregnancy and a lactation is allowed.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity of 5 years. Not to use after a period of validity. At a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place unavailable to children!
