Mukosat

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: Chondroitin sodium sulfate - 100 mg. Excipients: benzyl alcohol - 9 mg; waters for injections to 1 ml.

Pharmacological properties:

Chondroitin sodium sulfate - acid mucopolysaccharide from cartilaginous tissue of tracheas of cattle with an average molecular weight of 11 000 Dalton (11 килоДальтон), a stimulator of a reparation connecting (including cartilaginous) fabrics.

Drug possesses the hondroprotektorny, stimulating regeneration of cartilaginous tissue, antiinflammatory action. Participates in creation of the main substance of a cartilaginous and bone tissue, improves phosphorus-calcium exchange in cartilaginous tissue, inhibits the enzymes breaking structure and functions of a joint cartilage, slows down processes of a degeneration of cartilaginous tissue. Stimulates synthesis of proteoglycans, normalizes metabolism of a hyaline cartilage, promotes regeneration of cartilaginous surfaces and a joint bag. Warns a compression of connecting fabric, increases products of synovial fluid and mobility of the affected joints, reduces the accompanying inflammation, morbidity, promotes decrease in need for NPVP. At degenerative changes of cartilaginous tissue is means of replacement therapy.

The positive effect is observed in 2-3 weeks after the beginning of administration of drug. The therapeutic effect remains a long time (3-6 months) after the termination of a course of treatment.

 

Pharmacokinetics. Chondroitin sodium sulfate is easily soaked up after introduction in oil. In 30 minutes it is found in blood in considerable concentration. Cmax is reached in 1 h, then its contents gradually decreases within 2 days.

Chondroitin sodium sulfate collects, mainly, in cartilaginous tissue. The synovial membrane is not an obstacle for its penetration into a joint cavity. In 15 minutes after an injection of chondroitin in oil sodium sulfate is found in synovial fluid, then it gets into a joint cartilage where its contents reaches a maximum in 48 h.

Indications to use:

Degenerative diseases of joints and backbone:

— osteoarthrosis;

— intervertebral osteochondrosis.

Route of administration and doses:

The drug Mukosat® is administered in oil on 1 ml every other day. At good tolerance the dose is increased to 2 ml, since the fourth injection. A course of treatment - 25-30 injections. If necessary carrying out repeated courses in 6 months is possible.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions and hemorrhages in the place of an injection are possible. In these cases drug is cancelled.

Interaction with other medicines:

With care it is necessary to appoint the drug Mukosat® along with anticoagulants of direct action. Perhaps also strengthening of effect of indirect anticoagulants, antiagregant and fibrinolitik.

Contraindications:

— thrombophlebitises;

— tendency to bleeding;

— hypersensitivity to drug.

Storage conditions:

List B. Drug should be stored in the unavailable to children, protected from light place, at a temperature from 0 °C to 20 °C. A period of validity - 3 years.
