General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredients: 60 mg of menthol, 70 mg of camphor, 30 mg of eucalyptus oil, 20 mg of oil of terpentinovy, 15 mg of methyl-isopropyl phenol.

Excipients: butyl hydroxytoluene (Е 321), butylhydroxyanisole (Е 320), wax white, paraffin white soft, fragrance (cinnamon oil).

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Effect of drug is caused by structure of the operating components. Shows the local irritative, mestnoobezbolivayushchy (distracting), antiinflammatory action.

Camphor has local irritative effect. Irritates sensitive receptors of skin, expands blood vessels in the field of drawing that leads to a caumesthesia and comfort. When drawing on skin shows moderate local the anesthetizing action that is followed by the cooling effect, sometimes – temporary numbness of the site of skin. Camphor well gets into hypodermic cellulose, contacts glucuronic acid and is removed with urine.

Eucalyptus oil has local irritative and moderate local antiinflammatory effect. The action mechanism at the cellular level is unknown.

Terpentinovy oil when drawing has local irritative effect which is shown by a caumesthesia with the subsequent local moderate analgesic effect on the unimpaired skin.

Menthol has moderate mestnoobezbolivayushchy properties, irritates cold receptors of skin, has moderate antiseptic action. After absorption menthol is emitted with urine and жовчею in the form of a glucuronide.

Thus effect of drug is cumulative action of its components.

Indications to use:

It is applied in complex therapy of inflammatory diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tracts which are followed by cough, cold, feeling of a congestion of a nose and also at muscular pains.

Route of administration and doses:

For elimination of symptoms of inflammatory diseases of upper and lower respiratory tracts, such as cough, cold, feeling of a congestion of a nose, it is necessary to rub 2-4 g of ointment in skin of a breast and a back 2-3 times a day. At muscular pains ointment is applied on the painful site and for achievement of the best result cover it with a warm bandage.

At the cough caused by a zastudny disease, drug is used in the form of inhalations: 1/4 teaspoons on a glass of hot water 2 times a day within 5-7 days.

Not to heat glass with water during inhalation.

Not to apply the solution prepared for inhalation twice.

Features of use:

Drug is intended only for external use. Not to apply ointment on the damaged sites of skin.

Children of younger age should not put ointment on a face, a nose zone as it can provoke a collapse and development of a reflex bronchospasm. Do not apply at children to greasing of a nasopharynx.

To avoid hit of drug in eyes and on mucous membranes. It is forbidden to enter ointment into the nasal courses.

Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast. Safety of use of drug at pregnancy and during feeding by a breast was not investigated. Drug use to pregnant women and women who nurse is possible only in case, according to the doctor, the advantage of use of drug exceeds possible risk for a fruit or the child. Women who nurse should not apply drug on mammary glands.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms. It is not described.

Children. Drug is not used to children under 3 years because of danger of development of a reflex bronchospasm.

Side effects:

In isolated cases allergic reactions, irritation of skin in the field of putting drug, contact dermatitis, a small tortoiseshell, an erythema, a bronchospasm, a headache, dizziness are possible.

Prolonged use can reduce sensitivity to drug and reduce effect of quieting of pain.

Interaction with other medicines:

Any medicinal interactions are not revealed.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components, tendency to a bronchospasm, damages of integuments in the field of alleged putting drug, eczema, dermatitis. Children's age up to 3 years.

Overdose:

At accidental hit of menthol it was inside reported about an abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, symptoms of oppression of the central nervous system, dizziness, an ataxy, rushes of blood to the person, drowsiness, breath difficulty.

Treatment: gastric lavage, symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity - 3 years. To store at a temperature not above 25 °C in the place, unavailable to children. To store in densely closed packaging.
