Mallow Syrup

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 35,9 g of extract of a root of a mallow medicinal.

Excipients: sucrose, potassium sorbate, citric acid monohydrate.

Expectorant of a plant origin.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Drug has expectorant, local antiinflammatory effect, promotes decrease in viscosity of a bronchial secret.

Indications to use:

The respiratory diseases which are followed by cough with the hardly separated phlegm (tracheitis, bronchitis, a tracheobronchitis).

Route of administration and doses:

It is applied inside: to children up to 12 years - on 1 teaspoon 3 times a day; to adults and children 12 years – on 1 tablespoon 3-4 times a day are more senior.

Duration of treatment averages 10-15 days. Increase in duration and carrying out repeated courses of treatment is possible in coordination with the doctor.

Features of use:

Sick diabetes mellitus and to the persons which are on a diet with the lowered content of carbohydrates it is necessary to consider that 1 teaspoon of syrup contains about 4,2 g of sucrose (0,35 XE), in 1 tablespoon – about 16,8 g of sucrose (1,4 XE).

Use at pregnancy and in the period of a lactation. There are no data on use of drug during pregnancy and feeding by a breast.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms. Use of drug does not influence performance of potentially dangerous types of activity requiring special attention and bystry reactions (control of motor transport, work with moving mechanisms, work of the dispatcher and operator, etc.).

Side effects:

Allergic reactions are possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Drug should not be used along with the drugs containing codeine and other antibechics as it complicates expectoration of the liquefied phlegm.

Contraindications:

The increased individual sensitivity to drug components. Deficit of invertase/isomaltase, intolerance of fructose, glyukozo-galaktozny malabsorption.

Overdose:

Cases of overdose are noted.

Storage conditions:

To store in the place protected from light at a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children! Period of validity 2 years. Not to apply after the period of validity specified on packaging.

Packaging:

Syrup. On 150 ml of drug in the bottle from plastic of brown color supplied with a cover from polypropylene copolymer with laying from neutral polyethylene. Each bottle with the application instruction is placed in a cardboard pack.
