Bisacodyl

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: bisacodyl - 5,00 mg
Excipients: potato starch, lactose, gelatin, talc (magnesium hydrosilicate), magnesium stearate
Structure of a cover: целлацефат, shellac, polysorbate 20, sucrose crystal, acacias gum, talc (magnesium hydrosilicate), dye crimson (Ponso 4R).

Description: round biconvex tablets of pink color.

Pharmacological properties:

Is pro-medicine. In the alkaline environment there is a hydrolysis to formation of the substance rendering direct irritant action on receptors of a mucous membrane of digestive tract (secretion of slime in a large intestine increases, its peristaltics accelerates and increases). Laxative action comes in 6-10 hours, at reception before going to bed in 8-12 hours.

Indications to use:

The lock caused by hypotonia and a sluggish peristaltics of a large intestine (in particular, at elderly patients, at bed patients, after operations, childbirth). Regulation of a chair at hemorrhoids, a proctitis, proctal cracks.
Preparation for surgeries, tool and X-ray inspections.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside. At the locks caused by hypotonia of a large intestine for regulation of a chair at hemorrhoids, a proctitis, proctal cracks - to adults and children 12 years drug are more senior appoint 1-3 tablets to reception, to children at the age of 6-12 years on 1 tablet on reception. Frequency of reception is 1 time a day for the night or in the morning in 30 minutes prior to food.

Tablets need to be swallowed entirely, washing down with a small amount of liquid.

Features of use:

Bisacodyl should not be applied to prolonged treatment of a chronic lock.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions are possible. From digestive tract spastic abdominal pains, a meteorism, diarrhea which can lead to organism dehydration, disturbance of water and electrolytic balance (muscular weakness, spasms, a lowering of arterial pressure) are possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Combined use of the drug Bisacodyl and antiacid means, and also with milk and alkaline mineral water can lead to premature dissolution of its cover and irritation of a stomach and duodenum.

Contraindications:

Intestinal impassability, the restrained hernia, acute inflammatory diseases of abdominal organs, peritonitis, bleedings from digestive tract, uterine bleedings, cystitis, a spastic lock, an acute proctitis, acute hemorrhoids, children's age up to 6 years, hypersensitivity.

With care
Use drug at pregnant women and the feeding women, and also at patients with diseases of a liver and kidneys.

Overdose:

At overdose it is possible: diarrhea, dehydration, disturbance of water and electrolytic balance, hypopotassemia. Development of an atony of a large intestine is possible.

Storage conditions:

In the dry place, at a temperature from 15 to 25 °C. To store in unavailable to children the place. Period of validity 3 years. Not to use after the period of validity specified on packaging.
