General characteristics. Structure:
Active ingredients: 3,6 g of menthol, 5,25 g of camphor, 1,37 g of eucalyptus oil, 4,84 g of terpentinovy oil, 0,45 g of muscat oil in 100 g of gel.
Excipients: white oil jelly.
The gel for external use applied at a tussive symptom and other symptoms of catarrhal diseases.
Pharmacological properties:
Pharmacodynamics. Milistan gel is the combined drug which renders the local irritative, distracting, antiinflammatory, mucolytic and antiseptic action. The therapeutic effect of drug is caused by mutually exponential effect of its active components. Milistan incorporates gel:
- menthol - when drawing on skin expands blood vessels, causes a cryesthesia thanks to stimulation of "cold" receptors which is followed by the anesthetizing effect.
- camphor - shows the local irritative and anesthetizing action. Exciting sensitive nerve terminations of skin, reflex improves a trophicity of bodies and fabrics, tones up a respiratory center. At the time of allocation from an organism through respiratory tracts camphor promotes expectoration.
- terpentinovy oil has the weak antiinflammatory and anesthetizing action.
- eucalyptus oil renders insignificant anesthetic, antiseptic and sedation.
- muscat oil is applied as the component stimulating blood circulation in the place of use warms muscles, joints. Has antiinflammatory properties, thanking suppression of synthesis of prostaglandins.
Pharmacokinetics. Drug is well soaked up through skin.
Indications to use:
Complex therapy of the acute respiratory diseases which are followed by cold, a nose congestion, cough and also at a mialgiya, a lumbago, a headache.
Route of administration and doses:
Only for external use. To adults and children 2 years at the cough caused by cold are more senior, apply gel on skin of a thorax and a neck, at cold or a congestion of a nose apply gel on skin of wings of a nose, at a headache apply gel on skin of temporal sites, at muscle, spin pain apply gel on the painful site. For achievement of more optimum result atop apply a warm bandage. It is possible to repeat the procedure to 3 times a day. Treatment duration - 3 - 5 days.
Features of use:
Drug should not be used at peripheral vascular diseases (trophic ulcers, a varicosis) and topical nervous disturbances.
It is necessary to avoid contact with eyes, a mucous membrane and the injured skin.
Not to use this drug against constant or chronic cough, for example, cough after smoking, at asthma, emphysema or if cough is followed by the raised products of slime.
It is necessary to apply carefully at sensitive skin of children and elderly people. Not to apply at injuries of skin, open wounds and on mucous membranes.
Side effects:
Drug can cause reddening and irritation of skin.
Interaction with other medicines:

Storage conditions:
