Венитан® gel

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: The β-estsina of 10 mg contains 1 g of gel
excipients: methylparahydroxybenzoate (Е 218), sodium hydroxide, carbomer (carboxypolymethylene), propylene glycol, half-oxameasures, the water purified.

Description. Colourless or slightly opalescent homogeneous gel with a characteristic smell.

Pharmacological properties:

Venitan contains gel β-эсцин. Estsin is a natural mix of triterpenovy saponins which receive from horse-chestnut seeds (Aesculus hippocastanum L.), having antiedematous, venomotor properties and showing antiinflammatory activity. Besides, эсцин operates on an initial stage of the inflammatory process connected with the increased membrane and capillary permeability and products of exudate in adjacent fabrics.
Estsin shows antiserotoninovy and antihistaminic effect.
Estsin inhibits activity prostaglandin-sintetazy. This enzyme is necessary for formation of prostaglandins playing an important role in the inflammation mechanism.
Estsin prevents decrease in content of ATP in endothelial cells and increases activity of a phospholipase of A2, the enzyme which is responsible for release of predecessors of mediators of an inflammation.
Estsin reduces activity of the lizosomalny enzymes splitting proteoglycans which contain in walls of capillaries. It increases capillary resistance, reduces their permeability, reducing thereby amount of exudate and formation of hypostases.
Venitan gel is intended for simplification of such phenomena as hypostasis, heavy feeling and fatigue in the legs caused venostazy the lower extremities. It is good addition to compression therapy (an elastic bandage, elastic stockings, bandages). Besides, Venitan gel reduces hypostasis and accelerates a resorption of hematomas from blows and as a result of infusions or injections.
Venitan gel is made on a special thermosensitive basis, is easily applied on skin and promotes gradual release of active agent.

Indications to use:

Varicosity, heavy feeling in legs during pregnancy or at long standing, posttraumatic hematomas and hematomas after injections and infusions.

Route of administration and doses:

To apply a thin film of gel on the damaged site of skin and around it 2–3 times a day.
It is not necessary to rub.
At a varicose disease of veins simultaneous use of an elastic bandage or elastic stockings is recommended.
Duration of treatment depends on expressiveness of therapeutic effect. If after 14 days of therapy of improvement does not come, it is necessary to see a doctor. Therapy can be continued to 8 weeks or before reduction of expressiveness of symptoms.

Features of use:

Not to apply gel on the inflamed skin, open wounds and mucous membranes. Not to rub when drawing. At sudden emergence of the expressed symptoms of venous insufficiency (hypostasis, skin discoloration, feeling of tension and pain), especially on one extremity, it is necessary to exclude a vein thrombosis of the lower extremities.
Gel contains methylparahydroxybenzoate (E218) which can serve as the reason of allergic reaction, a bronchospasm, and the propylene glycol capable to cause irritation of skin.
Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast. Venitan gel can be applied during pregnancy and feeding by a breast, previously having consulted with the doctor.
Ability to influence speed of response at control of vehicles or work with other mechanisms. Does not influence.
Children. Experience of use of drug for children is not enough therefore it is not recommended to apply it at patients of this age group.

Side effects:

Hypersensitivity reactions are possible. In case of such reactions it is necessary to stop use of drug and to see a doctor.

Interaction with other medicines:

Are unknown. It is not recommended to apply gel on one site of skin together with other means to topical administration.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Overdose:

There are no messages.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity 2 years. At a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children.
