Calcium gluconate

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: one tablet contains calcium of a gluconate 0,5 g.

Pharmacological properties:

Calcium - the macrocell participating in formation of a bone tissue, blood coagulation process is necessary for maintenance of stable cordial activity, processes of transfer of nervous impulses. Improves reduction of muscles at muscular dystrophy, a myasthenia, reduces permeability of vessels. At in introduction calcium causes excitement of a sympathetic nervous system and strengthening of allocation by adrenaline adrenal glands; has moderate diuretic effect.

Indications to use:

Hypocalcemia of various genesis, hypoparathyrosis, parenchymatous hepatitis, toxic damages of a liver, nephrite, eclampsia, giperkaliyemichesky form of a paroxysmal mioplegiya, inflammatory and exudative processes, skin diseases. As an additional tool at treatment of allergic diseases and a medicinal allergy. As an additional hemostatic at pulmonary, gastrointestinal, nasal, uterine bleedings. As an antidote at poisonings with magnesium salts, oxalic acid and its soluble salts.

Route of administration and doses:

For intake a single dose - 1-3 g, frequency rate of reception - 2-3 times/days. At in/in or administration of solution in oil of calcium of a gluconate the single dose of drug has to correspond to 2.25-4.5 mmol of calcium. Solution of Calcii chloridum is entered in/in struyno (slowly) in a single dose of 500 mg, in/in kapelno - in a single dose of 0.5-1 g.

Features of use:

With care apply at patients with a small hypercalcuria, with insignificant renal failures or with an urolithiasis in the anamnesis; in the specified cases it is regularly necessary to control calcium excretion level with urine. Patients with tendency to formation of concrements in urine are recommended to increase the volume of the consumed liquid.

It is not recommended to enter to children in oil.

Side effects:

Perhaps: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bradycardia; at introduction in oil - a necrosis.

Interaction with other medicines:

Calcium the gluconate at simultaneous use reduces action of blockers of calcium channels. In/in administration of calcium of a gluconate to or after verapamil reduces its hypotensive action, but does not influence its antiarrhytmic effect. Under the influence of Colestyraminum absorption of calcium from a GIT decreases. At simultaneous use with quinidine delay of intra ventricular conductivity and increase in toxicity of quinidine is possible. During treatment by cardiac glycosides parenteral use of calcium of a gluconate is not recommended, in connection with strengthening of cardiotoxic action. At simultaneous oral administration of calcium of a gluconate and tetracyclines action of the last can decrease, in connection with reduction of their absorption.

Contraindications:

Hypercalcemia, heavy hypercalcuria, heavy renal failure, tendency to fibrinferments, hypersensitivity to calcium to a gluconate.

Storage conditions:

In the dry place at the room temperature. Period of validity of 8 years.
