Mallow

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 49313 mg of extract of a mallow in 200 ml of syrup.

Excipients: fructose, citric acid monohydrate, potassium sorbate.

The means stimulating expectoration.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Pharmacological properties of medicine are caused by existence slizy (mixes of pentosans and hexosans), pectinaceous substances, starch, and other polysaccharides of colloid character.

Effect of drug: antiinflammatory, enveloping and the expectorant is preferential at a catarral condition of respiratory tracts. The therapeutic effect is caused by slime which possesses antiinflammatory action, protects nerve terminations of mucous membranes of a throat and trachea from the irritating factors. Slime has ability to adsorb and inactivate toxins of bacteria and viruses, the toxic products damaging epithelial cells interferes with contact of toxins with a mucous membrane. As a result spontaneous regeneration of the damaged fabrics decreases, intensity of inflammatory process decreases. Working as a protector, vegetable slime softens a dense plaque on mucous membranes (drinks and throats), besides, thanks to colloid properties, slime facilitates expectoration. 

Indications to use:

Acute and chronic bronchitis, tracheitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis, infectious diseases of respiratory tracts. It can be applied by patients with a diabetes mellitus.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside, 3 times a day, diluting in warm tea:

- to children from 3 to 6 years on 1 teaspoon,
- to children 6 years on 1 dessertspoon are more senior,
- the adult on 1 tablespoon.

Before the use to shake up.
