General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 4,5 g of left menthol, 2,5 g of camphor of racemic, 2,5 g of eucalyptus oil, 0,25 g of clove oil.

Excipients: paraffin oil solid, white soft paraffin.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Gevkamen renders the local irritative and distracting, weak local antiinflammatory and analgeziruyushchy action. The mechanism of action is caused by the content of essential oils (clove and eucalyptus) and terpenic derivatives (camphor and menthol) which are a part of ointment. Irritates nerve terminations, expands arterioles and capillaries that promotes development of the distracting and anesthetizing action. Reduces exudation and condenses cellular membranes.

Indications to use:

Degenerative diseases of a musculoskeletal system: the deforming osteoarthrosis of peripheral joints and joints of a backbone, an arthralgia; posttraumatic inflammations of sinews, sheaves, muscles and joints (stretchings, sports injuries, overloads, bruises); neuralgia, mialgiya.

Route of administration and doses:

Ointment is applied on painful sites of skin in the affected joint or a muscle 2 - 3 times a day on 2 - 4 g (corresponds to an ointment strip of 2 - 4 cm), slightly mass the field of putting ointment.

The course of treatment depends on weight and the course of a disease and on the nature of the accompanying therapy.

Features of use:

At rubbing in in skin Gevkamen causes cryesthesias, then warmth, weak burning and a pricking. With care to apply during pregnancy and feeding by a breast, considering a ratio risk/advantage.

It is necessary to avoid hit of ointment in eyes and on mucous membranes. It is not necessary to apply ointment on the injured skin. After each use of ointment carefully to wash hands. At strong irritation of skin of rubbing in it is necessary to stop.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions (burning, hyperemia), irritation of skin, eczema in medicine sites of application are possible.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to medicine components; disturbances of integrity of integuments; the children's age is younger than 3 years.

Storage conditions:
